CLASS A NORTH

No. 2 CBA 10, No. 3 Freehold Township 3

Michael Carroll, Luke Valentino and Kyle Aldridge each scored twice and Chris Downey made 11 saves as the Colts (8-0, 4-0) scored seven unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the rival Patriots (6-1, 3-1) in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Tied 3-3 at halftime, CBA took the lead for good when Robbie Hermansen set Carroll up for a goal at the 9:47 mark of the third. The Colts would add five more goals in the third quarter as Connor Macrae, Luke Grover, Thomas Convery, Carroll and Valentino scored to give the Colts a commanding edge.

Downey was excellent in the third quarter when he made seven saves, including three in succession during one man-down sequence.

Chris Novella scored twice and Ryan O'Donoghue registered his first career goal for Freehold Township. Aidan Purcell was solid in goal with seven saves.

 

Middletown North 9, Neptune 7

Pete Abbes and Quinn Aker each tallied three goals and two assists and Joey Dam made 10 saves to lead the Lions (5-3, 2-2) to a victory over the Scarlet Fliers (2-6, 0-5).

Alec Zenker added two goals and tied for the game-high with 15 ground balls. John Miranda scored once and had 10 ground balls.

Nick Brown had a hat trick, Jahi Neely scored twice and Chase Fairbanks picked up 15 ground balls to lead Neptune. Kevin Clohosey and Ryan Gannon each scored once and Seamus McAnee made nine saves.

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven 8, Holmdel 7 (2OT)

Sophomore midfielder Kiel Forlenza buried the game-winning goal as the Bulldogs (5-6, 5-0) rallied from a four-goal halftime deficit to stun the Hornets (6-4, 1-2) in double overtime.

Rowan Goldin had two goals and two assists while Wyatt Feinberg and Jack Whitelaw each scored twice to help Rumson claw back after Holmdel built a 5-1 halftime lead. Sean Bunnell made 11 saves.

Justin Arredondo had three goals and one assist and Jack Kapcsos scored twice in his season debut for Holmdel. Jake Preziose had a goal and two assists, Justin Cohen had one goal and one assist and Nick Tuccillo had a great game with 18 saves. Dan Tempone went 10-for-20 on face-offs.

 

St. John Vianney 7, Red Bank 4

Anthony Brett and Andrew Gosse each tallied two goals and one assist and Nick Peckyno also scored twice to lead the Lancers (4-4, 2-2) past the Bucs. Mike D'Anzeri scored once, James Guilbert picked up a game-high 13 ground balls and C.J. Hanson made 18 saves.

Tor Haugenes had three goals and one assist and Dan Bonanno had a goal and two assists in the loss for Red Bank. Will Spencer went 11-for-18 on face-offs with seven ground balls and Matt Gibson made 17 saves.

 

No. 9 Ocean 16, Long Branch 0

 

CLASS B SOUTH

No. 1 Manasquan 19, Barnegat 0

Junior attackman Canyon Birch totaled four goals and one assist to reach 50 goals on the season while junior attackman Ryan Anderson tallied two goals and four assists as the Warriors (8-0, 4-0) shut out the Bengals (0-8, 0-5).

Mike Cielecki also scored four goals while Trey Brehm had two goals and three assists and Casey Campbell scored twice. Casey Mulligan had a goal and an assist and James Mele, James Pendergist, Mike Farinacci and James McEldueff each scored once.

 

No. 5 Wall 18, Donovan Catholic 6

Senior attackman Mike McIntyre scored five goals and added two assists and senior attackman Tim O'Hern tallied four goals and four assists to power the Crimson Knights (8-2, 4-1) past the Griffins (1-6, 0-2).

Will Forte added three goals, Jack Textor had two goals and two assists and Connor Prindiville had two goals and one assist. Kyle Peters and Ethan Doyle each scored once and Sean DeMott made six saves.

Trevor Barber scored twice, William Duddy, Andrew Schlendorf and Nick Calvetto scored once each and Peter Rao made nine saves to lead Donovan Catholic.

 

St. Rose 11, Point Boro 5

Shane Reilly scored five goals and Brendan Perry made seven saves to lead the Purple Roses (3-7, 2-2) to a win over the Panthers (3-7, 0-3).

Nolan Boehmcke and Logan LeMoult each scored twice while Mike Kinsel and P.J. Dwyer added one goal and two assists each. Spencer Flynn had two assists.

Dylan Kovolesky scored twice, Colton Carls and T.J. Palazzo had one goal each and Parker Roncin made five saves for Point Boro.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 7 Howell 10, Mater Dei 2

Sophomore attackman Logan Dennison scored four goals and added two assists while sophomore Chase Burke tallied two goals and two assists to lead the Rebels (7-2) past the Seraphs (3-5).

Joey Sorrentino also scored twice while freshman James Fay had a goal and three assists. Freshman LSM Theo Deberghes also scored to record his first career goal. Sophomore midfielder Vaughn Meehan went 12-for-16 on face-offs and senior goalie Nick Roberto made four saves.

 

NONCONFERENCE

Brick Memorial 10, Lawrence 8

Senior attackman Joey Ferrara sank four goals and added three assists as the Mustangs (2-6) clipped the Cardinals (5-2) to snap a six-game losing streak.

Matt Ingenito and Ian Thomas each scored twice, Dawson Heath and Chris Marks had one goal apiece and Jake White made nine saves. Ingenito also picked up a team-high nine ground balls.
