On Thursday night, junior Mike Falconetti picked the perfect time to pitch his best game this summer for Point Boro, throwing a complete-game three-hitter and striking out the final two batters to lock down a 2-1 victory over Brick Post 348.

The Panthers got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning on a lead-off double by junior Sabastian Severio. Sophomore Tom Paul then singled home courtesy runner Tim Rossi for a 1-0 lead. Point Boro added an unearned run in the fourth after back-to-back singles with two outs by junior Bill Feehan and sophomore Damon Del Priore, and an errant throw that brought home Feehan.

With the loss Brick Post 348 was eliminated from the tournament. Post 348 finished the summer season at 17-5, including a nice run in the American Legion State Tournament. Point Boro won three straight games in the tournaments loser's bracket to gain a spot in the championship game.
