Quarterback Jeff DeCicco ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass, while Mack Byrne and Dean Gallo also scored twice each to power Holmdel (4-3) to a Shore Conference nondivisional victory over Manchester (2-4).

DeCicco opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run, but Manchester responded when senior quarterback Jerry Ward scored on runs of 56 and 46 yards for a 14-7 lead. Holmdel answered when Byrne hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass form DeCicco to tie the score at 14 at the half.

A 63-yard touchdown run by Byrne on a pitch gave Holmdel a 21-14 lead early in the third quarter, and Gallo then broke free on a 37-yard touchdown run for a 28-14 lead. Cameron LaMountain scored on a 1-yard run and Gallo added a 43-yard touchdown run for the final score.

Holmdel ran for 374 yards as a team.

Ward led Manchester with 154 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
