Shore Conference Tournament

Group Play

Group 1

No. 1 CBA 5, Pinelands 0

Dimitry Corba scored two goals as the Colts topped the Wildcats to wrap up first place in SCT Group 1. The Pinelands loss also clinches second place for Jackson Liberty, which advances to the knockout stage.

Dylan Millevoi opened the scoring off a pass from Lawrence Mancino in the fourth minute and Corba struck for his first goal for a 2-0 lead in the 27th.

Corba scored again seven minutes after halftime off the second of Mancino's two assists to push the lead to 3-0 and Christian Oliveira headed in a Brendan Millevoi corner kick four minutes later.

Abraham Hernandez converted a Brandon Ortiz cross into a goal during the 57th minute to cap the CBA scoring.

Group 4

Toms River East 5, Freehold Boro 2

Luke Bodziak turned in a hat trick to go with an assist and the Raiders rolled to a win over the Colonials to nab a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament bracket.

Jack Smyth and Rowen Joice each added a goal for Toms River East, which eliminated Freehold Boro from SCT contention, but fell short of catching Marlboro on goal differential for the top spot in the group.

Group 6

No. 13 Ocean 1, Lakewood 0

For the second straight SCT group-stage match, Noor Eraky scored the lone goal in a 1-0 Spartans win -- this one propelling them past the Piners and into the next stage of the Shore Conference Tournament as the Group 6 winner.

Group 8

Shore 1, Lacey 0

Maxx Eichenbaum headed in a corner kick by Stephen Molnar in the 28th minute and the Blue Devils held on to claim the second-place spot in Group 8 with a road win over the Lions.

Lacey had a chance to even the score in the final 30 seconds, but a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box nicked the outside of the lower left post.

Group 10

Toms River North 5, Donovan Catholic 0

Mike Cendales scored the first of five goals by five different players and the Mariners coasted to a win over the Griffins to close out group play with a perfect 3-0 mark.

Jack Eubanks added to Toms River North's lead four minutes before halftime and Anthony Ruggiero picked up the scoring again in the 53rd. Jack Marro scored the fourth Toms River North goal and Josh Girtain capped the scoring in the 70th.

Regular Season

Class A North

Freehold Twp. 2, No. 5 Middletown North 0

Victor Torres broke the ice with a goal in the 61st minute and capped off a two-goal performance with another in the 79th as the Patriots snapped a six-game winless streak by beating the Lions.

Nate Reiser set up the first goal by Torres and Antonio Granato assisted the second.

Class A Central

No. 16 Rumson-Fair Haven 3, No. 7 Holmdel 2 (OT)

Owen Saad knocked in the golden goal out of a scrum following a corner kick and the Bulldogs fought off the Hornets to clinch no worse than a share of the Class A Central championship for the third straight year -- the first such accomplishment for the Rumson boys program in Class A Central.

Liam Barnett served a corner kick into the box in the fifth minute of overtime and Rumson senior Padraig Flynn was his first to get his head on it. A Rumson defender knocked it away from the goal and Saad volleyed it back toward the goal with his left foot. The ball slipped though a sea of defenders and into the left side of the frame for the winner.

Rumson held leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before finally prevailing in extra time. Luke D'Angelo finished a pass from Adison Bellincampi to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 they would take to the half.

After Holmdel tied it on a goal by Tyler Gravier in the 46th minute, Rumson answered in the 56th with a penalty kick by Flynn after a handball in the box.

Holmdel pulled even once again in the 66th, when Kieran Hynes cut in front of a defender and headed in a free kick off the foot of David Weiner. The assist was Weiner's second of the game.

Rumson can win the A Central championship outright with a win or draw vs. Wall on Thursday, or a loss or draw by Holmdel at Shore.
