Nelson Says Yes To The Irish

Not only is Red Bank Catholic’s Quenton Nelson quite possibly the top recruit in New Jersey but the junior is considered among the top high school offensive linemen in the country and he’s made his college plans known.

The 6’5, 285 pound tackle announced via twitter on Wednesday night that he has verbally committed to Notre Dame.

The announcement is certainly not a surprise as the Fighting Irish have been at the top of his list and Nelson will be part of what appears to be an incredible incoming class of linemen to South Bend.

The Caseys standout was named the top offensive lineman at last weekend’s Rivals Camp in Piscataway and afterwards indicated that he was close to making a final decision.  Nelson picked Notre Dame over a list that also included Ohio State, Boston College, Penn State and Rutgers.

Nelson is rated as the #8 offensive linemen in the country by Rivals but his performance last weekend is expected to result in him being rated even higher when revised rankings come out.
