Monsignor Donovan 2, Point Boro 1

Andrew Jarvis threw a complete game, striking out five and walking two, to help the Griffins knock off the Panthers.

Ian Koukos drove in Russ Petranto with an RBI single in the first inning for Monsignor Donovan's first run, and an RBI groundout by Bart Goble brought home Charlie Dimino with what proved to be the winning run in the fourth inning.

Petranto and Matt Drake each went 2-for-3 in the win.

Mystic Island-Pinelands 6, Toms River South 2

Eighth-seeded Mystic Island upset regular-season champion Toms River South, the No. 1 seed, thanks to a complete-game five-hitter by Dave DeFeo, who allowed one earned run, struck out seven and walked three.

Jared Strang went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI, Pat Spagnola added a double and a run scored, and Mitch Merrill was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI for Pinelands in the win.

Spencer Kapp was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the loss for the Indians.
