As you may or may not know a significant part of my job here is to head up our Shore Sports Network which includes game and show broadcasts, the ShoreSportsNetwork.com website and our biweekly publication, Shore Sports Network Journal.

Our priority is high school sports in Ocean and Monmouth counties and we just finished a very busy football season, one which saw a record six Shore Conference teams claim state sectional championships last weekend.

I mention this because today we cap our football coverage with the release of our All-Shore teams on ShoreSportsNetwork.com   It is an arduous process and one we take very seriously. The effort is headed up by Scott Stump, our Managing Editor and a well-respected journalist.  Along with Senior Content Provider Bob Badders and football broadcasters Ed Sarluca and Matt Harmon we have seen dozens of games this season, spoken with coaches and fellow media members.

The five of us know football and after hours of meetings assembled our 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.  We did so based on first-hand knowledge and input from those we respect.  Regardless we know there will be those upset and unhappy with our choices because that is always the way it is. For as long as I’ve been in this business I’ve known that anytime you select All-Star teams you tick off as many if not more than you make happy. It comes with the territory.  Some make teams based more on reputation that performance and I’d like to think our All Shore teams are comprised of young men who performed on the field.

However I also know we likely missed a few because when you cover an area featuring over 2,000 players on 43 teams you can’t be perfect.  This is especially true with those who played for bad teams. They often get lost in the shuffle.  With all that said I will match up our teams with anyone else’s because we do our homework.

Watch here and you will also find our choices for Players of the Year, Coach of the Year and our final Top Ten, again all done with careful thought. In addition I invite you to watch the video in which our crew recaps the season and talks about some of our All Shore choices and award winners.

Special thanks to Jersey Mike’s our presenting sponsor of high school football during the fall season. As they say, “help nourish, help flourish…be a sub above.”  Copies of the latest Shore Sports Network Journal with the football season recap will be available at all Jersey Mike’s later this week.
