Colts Neck 11, Howell 6

 

Freehold Township 5, Ocean 4

Billy Sasso scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Patriots (6-4, 4-2) the win over the Spartans (3-6, 2-5).

 

Wall 19, Marlboro 5

Kyle McDonough led an offensive explosion with six goals and four assists as the Crimson Knights (8-3, 6-2) dominated the Mustangs (4-5, 2-5). Kyle Critchlow added four goals and one assist and Mike Steppe had three goals and an assist.

Chris Kelly and Ben Metzger each scored twice for Marlboro.

 

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 5, St. John Vianney 4 (OT)

The Hornets (8-3, 5-1) rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the second quarter to score the game's final five goals, including the game-winner in double overtime by Mark Scherzer, to win a thriller over the Lancers (6-3, 3-2). Scherzer and Joe Tages each had two goals and one assist, and Kevin Baisley also scored to force overtime. Holmdel goalie Justin Ruiz turned in a sensational performance with a career-high 25 saves. Matt Dixon picked up a game-high 11 ground balls.

T.J. Coleman,  Pat Gribbon, Dan Louriero and Andrew Poretta each scored for St. John Vianney. D.J. Soriano made 12 saves and Ryan Gilfillan picked up eight ground balls.

 

Rumson-Fair Haven 9, Red Bank Catholic 3

Robbie Garavente pumped in a pair of goals along with an assist, and Colin Shea and Chris Hubler each finished with a goal and an assist to lead the Bulldogs (8-2, 4-0) past the rival Caseys (9-3, 5-1) in a key divisional matchup. Hubler also had a team-high five ground balls. Ryan Campbell went 11-of-14 on face-offs and Bryce Metzger made three saves behind a sturdy defense.

Matt Benjamin made 11 saves for Red Bank Catholic, which received a pair of goals from Alex Spiezio.

 

 

Class A South

Jackson Memorial 18, Brick 8

 

Toms River South 9, Brick Memorial 5

 

 

Nonconference

Southern 14, Oakcrest 3

Dylan Jinks and Brendan Mullen each scored four goals as the Rams (10-1) toppled the Falcons (5-4). Nick Simonelli scored three times and Shawn McManus added two goals and two assists. Brendan Lefanto made eight saves.

 

Byram Hills (NY) 9, Red Bank 3

Jake Smolokoff, George Zackman and Ryan Seely each scored, and Jon Pierce made 16 saves in the Bucs (10-3) nonconference loss to the Bobcats (8-1).
