Every week this fall, Jersey Mike’s and Shore Sports Network will be selecting a Team of the Week based on its performance over the past weekend.

The Team of the Week for Week Four is St. John Vianney, which picked up its biggest regular-season win of the millennium when it rallied for a 35-28 victory over defending Central Jersey Group II champion Rumson-Fair Haven in a huge Class A Central game between teams ranked in the Shore Sports Network Top 10.

The Lancers (4-0) took a huge step toward their first division title since 1982 and continued their best start since 1998 with the win on the road over the Bulldogs. They trailed 28-14 at halftime but scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to pull out the win. The offensive line paved the way for 271 yards rushing, and junior quarterback Anthony Brown threw one touchdown pass and ran for a pair of second-half touchdowns in posting 205 total yards. Junior Khalil Haskins had the game-winning, 47-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

“They stepped up to the plate and did a great job,” Ciccotelli said.

“We’ve been down before, and it’s not hard to come back if we stay as a family, and that’s what we did,” Haskins said. “We played for each other.”

The Lancers join Toms River North, Neptune and Central as the recipients thus far of the Jersey Mike’s Team of the Week, which is selected by the Shore Sports Network staff.
