Jersey Mike's Game of the Week: Toms River South at Toms River No

For years it was billed as the “Civil War” and while that may no longer be the cause it is still pretty special when Toms River South and Toms River North meet on the football field. The 47^th meeting between these crosstown rivals takes place tonight on the Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week which will be broadcast on 92.7 WOBM with a live video stream on shoresportsnetwork.com.

The visiting Indians and Mariners began playing in 1972 and in the early years the series was dominated by South, the original high school in town. However, the Mariners have pretty much owned the rivalry this century before the Indians won in 2013 and again last year (21-14). North comes into tonight’s game with a 3-2 record and their two losses are by a combined three points. Meanwhile South is still searching for its first win of the season.
