Jackson Team Sets Its Sights on Bristol
The Jackson Little League All Stars head to Bristol, Connecticut on Saturday as they prepare to represent New Jersey in the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, the final stop before the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The 13 players and three coaches have won the District 18, Section 3 and New Jersey State tournaments and now match up against champions from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Washington D.C. Play begins on Monday, but Jackson does not take to Breen Field until Tuesday when they will meet the winner of the game between Maryland and D.C. If they lose their first game Jackson returns to action on Wednesday, while a win means they won’t play their second game until Thursday.
The latest District 18 team to find summer success won the state title in dramatic fashion Monday night when Tommy Cartnick led off the bottom of the 6th inning against Somerset Hills with a walkoff home run to snap a 6-6 tie and set off a wild celebration.
