After this past weekend it appears the 6’5, 290 pound Nelson may be inching closer to making a verbal commitment and indications are that Notre Dame is at the top of his list.

The Caseys standout was named the top offensive lineman at Saturday’s Rivals Camp in Piscataway and afterwards admitted that the Fighting Irish, Ohio State and Boston College are at the top of his list with Penn State and Rutgers rounding out his top five.

Nelson said that the final decision may be based on which offensive line coach he feels the best about.

The RBC standout has visited all five schools and said he has no immediate plans to take any other visits and could make a decision in the near future.

His recruiting coach at Penn State is John Strollo, a Long Branch native who began his coach career as an assistant at Middletown South.
