The high school basketball season officially ends Wednesday night at Central Regional High School with the playing of the Shore Coaches Association Senior All-Star games.

It’s the final chance for many of the Shore’s top players to represent their schools and for some it might be the final game they play depending on college plans.

The girls game is first at 6 p.m. and is expected to feature players like Sam Clark and Kasey Chambers of St. Rose, Jasmine McCall of Manalapan, Jackson’s Tiffany Montague and Nahja Carter of Neptune. The North All-Stars will be coached by Manalapan’s Scott Horton, Colleen Kilmurray of Wall and Brian Nash of Marlboro. The coaching staff for the South All-Stars will be made up of Lacey’s Patti Cooke, Joe Roman of St. Rose and Central’s John Truhan.

The Boys take the court at 8 p.m. with the North All-Stars to be led by Player of the Year Mike Aaman of Raritan. He will be joined by such standouts as Hunter Wysocki of Colts Neck, Jason Huelbig of Middletown North and Neptune’s Ikie Calderon. Coaches are Lou Piccola and Steve Jannarone of Colts Neck and Middletown South’s Kevin Cullen.

Leading the South contingent will be Mark Kurkoda of St. Rose, The Conover Twins (Armond & Amir) from Asbury Park, Jackson’s Brandon McDonnell and Shaun Cooke of Point Boro. Coaching the South group will be Ryan O’Rourke of Lacey, Barnegat’s Erik Mazur and Ryan Ramsay of Manchester.

It should be a fun night of hoops and a great way for these outstanding players to end their high school careers.
