Callie Brown graduated from Monsignor Donovan High School in June of 2012 and four years later she has returned to not only find the name of the school has changed but so has her reason for being there. Brown has recently been named the new girl’s lacrosse coach at what is now Donovan Catholic where she replaces Dan Rosa.

Brown was a three-time Griffins captain during her high school career and also played varsity soccer and was a member of the swimming team. As a senior she was the school’s female recipient of the Ocean County Sportsmanship Award and after graduating attended Muhlenberg College where she played Division III lacrosse for one season. Brown transferred to Division II Georgian Court University after her freshman year and would have an outstanding three-year career with the Lions, scoring 111 goals. She was a two-time CACC 1st team All-Conference player, three-time member of the All-Tournament Team and served as a team captain. In the summer before her senior year Callie played international lacrosse in England, Ireland and Scotland. She not only shined on the field but earned numerous honors for her academic prowess and was named to the IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll after posting a 3.55 GPA.

A Toms River resident, Brown inherits a Griffins team that went 9-8 last spring and returns a pair of solid seniors in Shannon Eagan and Madison Heck.   Egan surpassed the 100 career goal mark during her junior season last May.
