This past Saturday we took on the Wagner Seahawks on their Senior Day game.  Since I've been at Monmouth, Wagner was always the one team that you would look for once the schedule comes out.  We always knew when we were playing them, and wanted to beat them more than any other team.

We were playing another team on their Senior game which meant that we had to watch for them to come out ready to go.  So coming into the game our goal as a team was to get off to a fast start ourselves.  That was important to us especially considering the slow start we got off to in our previous game.

We did exactly that as we took the opening kickoff past mid-field which gave us great field position.  Two plays later we scored a touchdown, busting a long run from Julian Hayes.  Our fast start continued as we scored in a three-play drive, where I caught a 65-yard pass before being tackled at the five yard line.

When I got to the sideline my teammates and even my coach had to make fun of me because I got tackled and didn't make it to the end zone.  It was all fun and games though especially since we scored on that drive two plays later.  If we got stopped on that drive it would have been a whole different story.  After we scored on that drive we pretty much controlled the game the rest of the way.

Our defense played another outstanding game not allowing a single touchdown.  The final score was 23-6 Monmouth.

This was a huge win for us because it still gives us a chance to finish the season with a winning record.  It also gives us a chance to finish out the season with seven wins which would be the most wins in a season in my time that I have been here.

This coming Saturday we play our 8th and final road game at Bryant University.  Every year we play Bryant it is a close game so we have to try and get off to a fast start just like we did at Wagner if we want to get our sixth win of the year.

Thank you for the continued support of our football team, were going to do everything we can to get a win on Saturday.
