Class A South

No. 1 Southern 16, Toms River East 2

Senior midfielder Shawn McManus scored three goals, including the 100th of his career, and added an assist as the Rams (5-0, 1-0) opened a 14-0 halftime lead on their way to a lopsided victory over the Raiders (0-2, 0-1).

Senior attackman Dylan Jinks led Southern with four goals and four assists and senior Chris Smith had four goals and three assists. Kyle Mulrane and James Manzo each scored twice, Nick Simonelli had three assists and Ryan McWhorter also tallied for the Rams.

 

Nondivisional

No. 5 Freehold Township 8, Jackson Memorial 2

Matt Lach scored a game-high three goals and John Poole and Josh Nastarowicz each scored twice to lead the Patriots (3-2) past the Jaguars (2-1) in Jackson. Drew Dunn also scored for Freehold Township, while Brandon Nunez continued to set up his teammates for goals with four assists. Matt Schroepfer made six saves.

Jared Calhoun and Billy Plungis scored for Jackson with Dylan Furnback stopping 15 shots.

 

Middletown North 18, Donovan Catholic 13

Justin Russo sank five goals along with two assists and Chris Fisher had four goals and three assists to lead the Lions (4-2) past the Griffins (1-2) in Middletown. Bryan Flannigan finished with three goals and four assists and Ryan Aker netted a pair of goals to go along with three assists. Kevin Powers made 15 saves in goal to earn the victory.

Nonconference

St. Peter's Prep 10, No. 3 CBA 9 (OT)

Nick Casner scored with 30 seconds left in regulation for the Colts (2-1) to send the game to overtime, but the Marauders tallied in the extra session to come away win the nonconference win in Middletown. CBA trailed 8-3 at halftime before using a 6-1 run over the final two quarters to force overtime.
