Thunderstorms in Tuesday night's forecast prompted the postponement of girls soccer Shore Conference Tournament semifinals to Wednesday night, according to tournament director Tony DeOrio.

The semifinal double-header will still begin at 5 p.m. at Ocean Township High School, with No. 2 seed Wall playing No. 3 Toms River North. The second game of the double-header between No. 1 Freehold Township and No. 4 Jackson Memorial is still scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tuesday's postponement does not affect the championship schedule, which remains 7 p.m. on Thursday night at Ocean High School, following the boys championship at 5 p.m.

The extra day gives Wall a chance to get healthier, with senior defender Maggie Wishart nursing a bruised shin and Amy Paternoster battling a sprained foot. Paternoster, the leading scorer on the Crimson Knights with 29 goals and 20 assists, did not play in the 6-2 quarterfinal win over Colts Neck.

Freehold Township enters Wednesday with a perfect 17-0 mark after getting past Toms River East on Saturday. The Patriots will try to become the first team to win the Shore Conference title with a perfect record since Red Bank Catholic did it in 2009.

Jackson Memorial and Toms River North battled all season in Class A South and will be battle-tested sides going into Wednesday. Toms River North beat a dangerous Shore Regional team, 3-1, on Saturday, while Jackson Memorial followed up a 1-0 battle with RBC in the round of 16 with a 4-0 rout of Freehold Boro.
