North Jersey, Section 2

Group 3

4-West Morris 56, 5-Middletown North 47

West Morris (20-8) outscored Middletown North (15-11), 33-24, in the second half to erase a 24-23 deficit at the break.

7-Red Bank 49, 2-Chatham 42

Bridget Tobin pumped in 18 points, including nine from the foul line, and cleared six rebounds while Caitlyn Decker converted eight from stripe to finish with 15 points as the Bucs (17-11) picked up their fifth straight win and eliminated the reigning Morris County Tournament champion.

Meghan Murray added nine points and five steals and Chloe Teter scored seven for Red Bank, which hit 23 of 34 free throws (16 of 23 in the fourth quarter) and expanded on a 27-24 lead after three quarters. The Bucs, who are chasing their first sectional title since 1998 when they went on to win the Group 3 state title, owned a 16-10 lead at the half and will face the winner of sixth-seeded Mendham and third-seeded Warren Hills in the semifinals on Friday.

Group 3

1-Ewing 67, 8-Wall 54

Senior Lauren Karabin pumped in 27 points and senior Tara Casuccio scored 15 for the Crimson Knights (10-17) in a losing cause. Wall trailed, 34-33, at the half.

3-Steinert 68, 6-Neptune 29

Sophomore forward Makayla Andrews scored 17 for Neptune (13-12), which trailed Steinert (21-6), 40-12, by halftime. Natalie Mehl topped the Spartans with 16 points and Tatiana Dorner chipped in with 14.

Group 1

6-Shore 46, 3-Piscataway Tech 14

The Blue Devils (11-16), who openeda 23-4 lead by halftime, got 10 points from Savannah Notte and Jaclyn Shapiro while Breanna Jackson added nine. Shore heads to second-seeded Middlesex on Friday for the sectional semifinals.

4-Keyport 41, 5-Riverside 31

The Red Raiders (13-11) owned a 31-27 lead and finished with a 10-4 close in the fourth quarter.

Shannan Devlin posted her second straight double-double of the state tournament, backing 16 points with 13 rebounds. Alexis Breen had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists and Sage Hunt was imposing in the paint with eight points, nine boards and three blocked shots.

Keyport finished 10 of 14 from the foul line.

1-Bound Brook 62, 8-Point Pleasant Beach 26

Bound Brook (22-3), the defending Group 1 state champion, outscored the Garnet Gulls (14-10), 44-16, in the first half. Carleigh Burns and Allison House scored six apiece for Point Beach. Cameron Ward led three players in double figures for Bound Brook with 16 points. Julia Nilsen scored 15 and Cortlyn Morris recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Group 3

4-Toms River East 48, 5-Hammonton 28

The Raiders (18-9) set the tone in the first half, building a 30-12 lead. Nicole Platten dropped in 13 points and Jordyn Madigan scored nine for Toms River East, which will face top-seeded and unbeaten Mainland (27-0) in the semifinals on Friday.

Toms River East jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter and widened the gap to 30-12 by intermission. Madigan and Platten each drilled three 3-pointers and Kamryn Lister added another among her seven points. The Raiders have won four straight.

5-St. Rose 78, 12-Immaculata 28

7-Donovan Catholic 50, 10-Mount St. Mary 46

The Griffins (21-5) used a 19-10 surge in the fourth quarter to erase a 36-31 deficit. Donovan Catholic will travel to second-seeded Gloucester Catholic for a quarterfinal matchup on Friday.

Molly Collins scored 11 of her team-high 22 points from the foul line while Melissa Buxton sank three triples to finish with 10 points and five rebounds. Paige Slaven added nine points and Olivia Parlow netted seven for the Griffins.
