Point Pleasant Beach

Head Coach: Jay Lagomarsino, 38th Season

Record Last Year: 21-6 (8-0 B Central)

Returning Players: Shelby Brunotte (JR, Forward); Lauryn Case (SR, Forward); Erin Frauenheim (JR, Guard/Forward);  Gabrielle Kirchner (JR, Guard); Elliana Loffreno (SO); Samantha Miles (JR); Ava Nagy (SR, Guard); Gina Umek (SR)

Newcomers: Kaitlyn Hard (JR, Guard) Elliana Loffreno (SO, Guard) Parker Stizza (SO, Guard)

Team Outlook: Point Beach will be the favorite to win Class A Central, bringing back a good portion of their lineup from last year. Senior Lauryn Case and junior Erin Frauenheim were two of the top scorers in the division last year. Point Beach has the experience to make a run in Central Jersey Group 1 and will be looking for a rematch against Shore Regional.

 

Keansburg

Head Coach: Jim Ferraro, first Season

Assistant Coaches: George Hoff 

Record Last Year: 13-8 (6-2 Class B Central)

Returning Players: Nevaeh Tucker (SR, Guard/Forward); Jazmyn Muniz (SR, Forward): Gabriella Rivera (SR,Guard);  Lindsay Rivera (JR, Forward); Gabriella Flanzbaum (So, Guard)

Newcomers: Ciara Johnson (SR, Forwares); Avyanna Perrin (SO, Guard); Princess Graves (SO, Forward); Hailey Geyer SO, Guard/Forward); Jabnelyz Crespo Borges (SO, Forward); Natalie Bellotti (FR, Forward)

Team Outlook: Keansburg finished in second place in the division last season, only falling to division champions Point Beach. The Titans graduated three starters, but leading scorer Lindsay Rivera returns after finishing with 254 points and 234 rebounds last season. First-year coach Jim Ferraro has a young team to build on and to compete in the division.
Henry Hudson

Head Coach: Ryan Patrick, sixth Season

Assistant Coaches: Walter Davis, Rachel DeWyngaert

Record Last Season: 8-13 (3-5 Class B Central)

Key Returners: Mackenzie Denzler (SR, Guard; 7.6 PPG, 3.6 RPG), Shannon Kenny (SR, Forward; 2.6 PPG, 5.1 RPG), Alexa Newell (SR, Guard; 2 PPG, 4.5 RPG), Taylor Shearer (SR, Forward; 6.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG)

Newcomers: Maggie Law (SO, Guard), Siofra King (SO, Guard), Abigial Lewison (JR, Guard), Madison Tidswell (JR, Guard)

Team Outlook: The Admirals go into the 2023-2024 season with an experienced roster that includes four seniors, most of whom have been getting varsity time since their sophomore year. Makenzie Denzler is going to be called on to run the offense and she is hoping to up her scoring totals while working the ball inside the Admirals two important forwards, Taylor Shearer and Shannon Kenny.

 

Keyport

Head Coach: James Maguire, third season

Record Last Year: 11-13 (3-5 B Central)

Key Returners: Gia Aceta (SO, Forward; 1.7 PPG, 5 RPG), Skylar Breen (SO, Guard; 7.6 PPG, 3.7 RPG), Shaylyn Walsh (SR, Guard; 2.2 PPG, 2 RPG), Danika Borza (SR, Forward; (2.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG)

Newcomers: Jenna O’Brien (SO, Guard), Adrianna Garcia (SR, Forward), Allison Ahmed (SR, Forward), Tameah Page (FR, Guard), Maya Kahane (FR, Guard), Jaslene Jiminez (FR, Forward)

Team Outlook: Keyport has one of the youngest teams in the division, but brings back players who saw a lot of minutes last season. Sophomore Skylar Breen finished second in scoring last season and will be one of the leaders this season for Keyport. Keyport will hope to gain experience in the tough Shore Conference to be able to compete in Central Jersey Group 1.
