When Central hosts Jackson Memorial on Friday night it will be about much more than wrestling.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Chase Ryan Olsen Foundation, which was started by the Olsen Family, from Jackson, after their son Chase passed away from cancer in November of 2009 at the age of nine. Donations will be taken at the door and t-shirts will also be sold with all proceeds going to the Chase Ryan Olsen Foundation

All varsity wrestlers from Jackson and Central will wear gold shoelaces as a symbol of awareness and support of battling childhood cancer.

The middle school match between Geotz and Central Regional and the junior varsity match will take place side-by-side at 5 p.m., with the varsity match to follow at 7 p.m.

In 2016, the foundation will also give out a memorial scholarship at Jackson Memorial to a graduating senior that has had a personal battle with cancer or has had a close family member or friend battle cancer. This will be the sixth year the foundation has awarded a scholarship.

The Chase Ryan Olsen Foundation also donates to local families that have had a child affected by cancer, and also donates to Ocean of Love, an organization that helps children with cancer.
