The night started with excitement for the fans of Freehold Township as they entered the game versus Bordentown without a loss. A win would secure the Section 3 Championship for Freehold Township and a spot in the New Jersey State finals. Freehold Township, though, was unable to come through last night as Bordentown cruised to a 13-3 victory in four innings.

Carson Applegate opened up the scoring sheet for Bordentown with a two-run homer in the first inning. Bordentown scored a couple of runs on wild pitches by Freehold Township pitcher Zach Gorman, who struggled throwing strikes at times for Freehold. Gorman hit the 85 pitch limit, but was only able to complete 3 full innings.

The third was a pivotal inning for Freehold Township as they scored two runs, highlighted by a two-run single by John Abrahamson. The single cut Bordentown's lead to two runs and gave life to Freehold Township, but Bordentown pitcher Ryan Drombowski did not seem phased by the situation as he struck out the final batter of the inning to escape a jam with runners on the corners.

Bordentown broke the scoring open in the fourth inning as they drove in eight runs. The scoring surge was highlighted by a base-clearing triple by Joey Feig and a three-run homer by Josh Petrone.

The Section 3 Championship will be decided tonight at 7 p.m.
