Former Red Bank Catholic running back John DiStefano has committed to Wagner College and has enrolled in the school for the spring semester.

DiStefano graduated from RBC in 2012 and spent this past fall at Milford Academy, a prep school in New Berlin, New York.  The 5’9, 185 pounder was used as a kick returner, punt returner and running back at Milford and had his best game in the season finale against the Navy JV team which included an 80-yard run from scrimmage.

DiStefano had a breakout senior season for the Caseys in 2011 as he rushed for 1531 yards and scored 23 touchdowns to earn numerous All-Shore honors, including a place on the Shore Sports Networks “Fab 44.”   His most memorable game came in the opening round of the NJSIAA Playoffs when he rushed for a career-high 278 yards and 4 TD’s in a win over Pope John.

Wagner won their first-ever Northeast Conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs during a 9-4 season in 2012.
