After five seasons leading his alma mater Sean Henry has resigned as Point Boro's head football coach for personal reasons.

Henry tendered his resignation to the Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education on May 23. Henry went 25-25 during his tenure and the Panthers had their best season since since 2008 this past fall by finishing 8-2 and winning a share of the Class B South division title.

Henry had been with Point Boro for several seasons as an assistant coach prior to being named head coach.

Defensive coordinator Matt Cilento will serve as the acting head coach for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year, according to Point Boro athletic director Chris Ferrone. The position of head football coach has not been posted yet and Point Boro will begin that process once the school year ends, Ferrone said.
