Football: Matawan’s Nick Tomkins Commits to Dartmouth
Matawan senior tight end/defensive end Nick Tomkins announced that he has verbally committed to Dartmouth.
Tomkins, a three-year varsity player, has 61 tackles, 6 for a loss, and also has 7 sacks for one of the Shore Conference's toughest defenses. He also has an interception and a fumble recovery on the season. Tomkins also has 7 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown at tight end this fall.
Tomkins was offered by Dartmouth last week for his first FCS offer before deciding to commit this week. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound senior has been recruited to play defensive end at the next level.
"I visited about 20 schools in the past year, including half the Ivy League schools, and Dartmouth felt the most special to me,'' Tomkins told SSN's Chris Melvin. "I felt most at home in Hanover. The coaches are great, and the education I'll receive is excellent."
