Neptune graduate Keith Kirkwood, who saw time at wide receiver as a true freshman at Hawaii, has transferred to Temple, which coach Matt Rhule announced to the media at practice on Saturday.

Kirkwood, a big target at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, led the team in average yards per catch at 20.8 after finishing with 12 catches for 250 yards and four touchdowns last year. He only played his senior season at Neptune, finishing with 33 catches for 737 yards and 7 touchdowns for a team that reached the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III final. Kirkwood also had multiple Division I offers for basketball before deciding to play football his senior year and then committing to Hawaii.

He will have to sit out this season at Temple because of NCAA transfer rules. He joins a Temple team that also includes junior defensive back Will Hayes (Howell) and redshirt freshman long-snapper Josh Lang (Point Beach). Temple also secured a verbal commitment from Lakewood senior quarterback/linebacker Chapelle Cook on Saturday and offered Lakewood junior linebacker Amir Tyler.
