Over the years there have been numerous lists and polls of the greatest athletes by sport at the Jersey Shore and even greatest coaches. However, the Shore Sports Network is inviting you to participate in a unique search to identify THE single greatest sports personality of the last 50 years (1968-2018).

Not only are we going to put athletes, coaches, broadcasters, contributors, etc. all together but we will do so in a 64-person bracket…our own version of “Greatest Sports Personality Madness.” Todd Frazier vs. Warren Wolf, Christie Rampone vs. Jim Nantz, Jim Dowd vs. Ken Frank…a wide-open competition in which you along with the staff of the Shore Sports Network declare the winner.

The first step is to come up with the field of 64 so please submit your nominees for consideration. You can give choose as many as you want and based on feedback we will break them into four brackets of 16. Here’s the voting schedule:

March 6-11              Vote to get from 64 to 32

March 13-18            Vote to get from 32 to 16

March 20-25            Vote to get from 16 to 8

March 27-April 1     Vote to get from 8 to 4

April 3-8                    Vote to get from 4 to 2

The person voted the Jersey Shore’s Greatest Sports Personality of the last 50 years will receive a special award from Ocean Trophies of Lanoka Harbor and of course, own unique bragging rights.
