Newly-minted World Cup champion Christie Rampone has already been part of a historic ticker-tape parade with the U.S. women's national soccer team, and now she can add another memorable moment - making the cover of Sports Illustrated.

After serving as a captain on the second World Cup championship team of her career, the former Point Boro and Monmouth University great graced a special cover of SI. The magazine is giving all 23 members of the team and coach Jill Ellis their own cover, and then a 25th cover will be a group shot of the champs, who beat Japan 5-2 on July 5 to capture their third World Cup title in history. Rampone is one of two former New Jersey stars to get an SI cover along with Carli Lloyd, who had a had trick in the championship game.

Rampone, 40, was the only member of this year's team who also played on the 1999 World Cup champion squad. She also is a three-time Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. team.
