For CBA winning the Shore Conference Swimming Championship is old hat but it’s quite a different story for Trinity Hall which registered another first in the pool this weekend at the Ocean County YMCA.

The Colts continued an amazing streak as they won their 27th consecutive shore title and did some in dominating fashion. Leading the way for Coach Vito Chiaravolloti were Joey Huber (200 freestyle), Sammy Rennard (500 freestyle) and John Shea (100 backstroke) who each won individual titles. Huber and Rennard were also part of the three championship relay teams…200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle.

CBA finished with 429 points, well ahead of runner-up Toms River North (173).

The Shore Conference Girls Championship is a first for Trinity Hall as this was their initial appearance in the event. In just their fourth year of existence the school in Tinton Falls has already established a winning tradition in the pool.

The Monarchs edged out Monmouth County rival Manasquan for the team title led by Caroline Gmelich who won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley and was part of two winning relay efforts (200 medley, 400 freestyle). Malia Wolf was a big part of the championship effort as she was part of the relay victories and also took first in the 100 butterfly for Coach Alyssa Morreale.

Both teams now turn their attention to the upcoming state championships.
