Thursday Oct. 1

Class B North

No. 9 Red Bank 28, Neptune 7

Senior running back Alim Godsey ran for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 carries and senior quarterback Jack Navitsky added 89 yards rushing and a touchdown as the Bucs (4-0, 4-0) continued their best start in over 10 years by downing the Scarlet Fliers (0-4, 0-4).

Godsey ran for a 17-yard score in the first quarter and a 15-yard touchdown in the second quarter as Red Bank built a 14-0 halftime lead. Senior wide receiver Sadiq Palmer added a 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Navitsky ran for a 33-yard touchdown in the  fourth quarter.

Sophomore quarterback Chase Fairbanks threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to senior Elijah Smith for Neptune.

 

Class B South

Donovan Catholic 23, Barnegat 20 (2OT)

GianCarlo Stigliano kicked a 22-yard field goal in double overtime to give the Griffins (2-2, 2-1) a thrilling victory over the Bengals (1-3, 1-3).

Stigliano had missed an extra point earlier in the game, but rebounded in deteriorating weather conditions to hit a clutch kick.

Senior Dezmund Hunter scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and senior Alex Rosario added another score on the ground for Donovan Catholic. Hunter also blocked an extra point in the third quarter to help send the game to overtime.

 

Point Boro 26, Manchester 6

Quarterback Noah Husak ran for a pair of touchdowns and running backs Nate Husak and Gene Franceschini also ran for touchdowns as the Panthers (4-0, 3-0) stopped the Hawks (0-4, 0-4) to remain undefeated.
