Class A South

No. 4 Brick 37, Lacey 14

Junior wide receiver Ja'Sir Taylor returned a punt 47 yards for a touchdown and scored on runs of 13 and 26 yards to power the Dragons (6-0, 5-0) to victory versus the Lions (0-6, 0-5).

Senior quarterback Tom Zbranak threw a 74-yard touchdown pass to Javion Harris and Anthony Costanza scored on a rushing touchdown. Junior linebacker Dean Helstowski blocked two punts, one of which went out of the end zone for a safety.

Lacey became the first team to score on Brick since Brick Memorial in Week One when Chase Stephenson threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Scott Tutela on a flea-flicker in the second quarter. Stephenson would add a short touchdown run late in the game.

 

Toms River South 21, Southern 0

Senior quarterback Jaden Kosh ran for a pair of touchdowns and senior running back Tyler Sosa added a touchdown run as the Indians (4-1, 3-1) shut down the Rams (2-4, 1-3).

Kosh had an interception that set up his own 1-yard touchdown run in the second and later scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. Sosa's touchdown was a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Toms River South's defense held Southern to 70 total yards to post its second straight shutout and third overall this season.

 

Class B North

Neptune 14, Colts Neck 9

Chase Fairbanks threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kahmar Rice and Jemauri Jones ran for a touchdown to help the Scarlet Fliers (1-4, 1-4) pick up their first win of the season by downing the Cougars (0-6, 0-4).

Rice clinched the win with an interception with 1:01 left in the game.

Steven Barsky had an interception that led to his own 1-yard touchdown for Colts Neck, and Khaled Mostafa had a tackle for a safety in the first quarter.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 49, Keansburg 21

Sophomore quarterback Luke Frauenheim ran for 124 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries and sophomore running back Chris Webber ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries as part of a 324-yard rushing effort the Garnet Gulls (4-2, 2-1) used to run past the Titans (1-5, 0-3).

Sophomore quarterback John Nista completed 2-of-3 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, which was an 80-yard score to junior wide receiver Connor Kells. Kells also had a fumble recovery on defense. Jacob Clement added a touchdown on a six-yard run and Sean Gould was 7-for-7 on extra points.

Senior Arkeyel Brown ran for 114 yards and all three Keansburg touchdowns on just nine carries.

 

Nondivisional

Freehold 14, Wall 7

Senior quarterback Jake Curry ran for a 15-yard touchdown and threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Matt Krauss as the Colonials (4-2) topped the Crimson Knights (1-5).

 

Nonconference

Monmouth 14, JFK-Iselin 9

Casey Pachucki ran for 92 yards and a touchdown and Ely Velez also ran for a touchdown as the Falcons (3-3) won a defensive battle with the Mustangs (0-6).
