Monsignor Donovan Celebrates 50 Years

They opened their doors in 1962 as St. Joseph High School and a little more than two decades later the school name was changed to Monsignor Donovan. Now in its 50th year as Ocean County’s catholic high school Mon Don’s year-long golden celebration continues tomorrow with an Alumni Basketball Reunion and Retired Jersey Celebration.

The Flashes (10-1) stunned the previously unbeaten Garnet Gulls (10-1) as senior kicker Doug MacArthur nailed a 33-yard field goal with 5:48 left in the game to snap a 14-14 tie and send Florence to its second straight Central Jersey Group I final,17-14,  where it will face top-seeded Shore Regional. on the Shore Sports Network Game Of The Week.
