Non-Public Group III

At MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford

Red Bank Catholic 45, Delbarton 20

Junior quarterback Eddie Hahn went 9-for-10 for 234 yards and a touchdown passing and also ran for 47 yards and a touchdown as the Caseys (11-1) routed the Green Wave (9-2) to win their first state title since 1976 and the second in school history since the creation of the state playoff system in 1974.

Senior running back Tommy Spernal added 98 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 19 carries as the Caseys rolled up 391 yards of total offense. Senior linebacker Nick LaGrippo added a blocked punt that he recovered in the end zone for a touchdown. Senior tailback Mike Cordova chipped in with a 1-yard touchdown, and senior wideout Nick Lubischer hauled in a 52-yard touchdown pass from Hahn.

Central Jersey Group III 

At Kean University

Freshman quarterback George Pearson went 10-for-14 for 198 yards and four touchdown passes to lead the Huskies (8-4) to their first state title since 2011, their third one since 2009, and the seventh in their illustrious history as they knocked off the Ramblers (8-4).

Junior Shawn Ramcheran caught touchdowns of 8 and 32 yards on shovel passes in the second half, senior Jimmy Pierce had a 32-yard touchdown catch and senior Justin Ferrara added a 17-yard touchdown grab in the win.

Central Jersey Group V

At Rutgers University

Manalapan 21, South Brunswick 7 

The Braves (11-1) won their first state title in program history in their fourth straight final appearance by knocking off the previously unbeaten Vikings (11-1) as senior fullback Ben Sieczkowski and senior tailback Imamu Mayfield each ran for 1-yard touchdowns and senior quarterback Dan Anerella threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Kyle Mullen.

The Braves racked up 243 total yards, led by 73 yards rushing and a touchdown by Mayfield, who led the Shore Conference with 31 touchdowns this season.

Mullen also had 2.5 sacks in the win as Manalapan's defense was outstanding, particularly in the red zone, and also held Syracuse-bound South Brunswick standout Dontae Strickland to 18 yards rushing on 11 carries and 13 yards on two catches. Senior defensive back Dan Debner also added two interceptions to finish with seven for the season.

Central Jersey Group IV

At Rutgers University

Jackson Memorial 21, Middletown South 18

Sophomore running back Mike Gawlik ran for 159 yards and a touchdown, senior quarterback Joe DeMaio threw one touchdown pass and ran for another, and the Jaguars (11-1) thwarted a fake field goal attempt with nine seconds left in the game to seal their first state title since 2005 and their fourth in history by holding on to beat the Eagles (9-3).

DeMaio threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Johnson and also ran for a 13-yard touchdown in the win.

Junior Cole Rogers ran for 157 yards and a touchdown in the loss for Middletown South. Junior quarterback Matt Mosquera threw a 96-yard touchdown pass to Tom Marron and hit a 28-yard field goal earlier in the game to tie the single-season Shore Conference record with his 14th field goal of the season.

Central Jersey Group II

At Kean University

Rumson-FH 21, Delaware Valley 0

Senior tailback Charlie Volker ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries and the defense turned in another stellar performance in a state final, as the Bulldogs (9-3) blanked the Terriers (7-4) for their first shutout of the season at the perfect time to win back-to-back state titles for the first time in history and their third title overall.

Sophomore Mike O'Connor threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout Murray McHeffey and Matt Waters had a forced fumble that he returned 53 yards for a touchdown in the win.

 

Central Jersey Group I 

At Kean University

Shore 42, South Hunterdon 12

Junior fullback Doug Goldsmith ran for 139 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries and quarterback Ryan Campi threw one touchdown pass and ran for another as the Blue Devils (11-1) routed the Eagles (9-3) to win their first state title since 2010 and their sixth in history.

Campi ran for a 1-yard score and also threw a 28-yard touchdown to senior Mike Moore, who added a 30-yard touchdown run of his own. Kyle Masica chipped in with a 23-yard touchdown run and had an interception on defense, and junior Tyreek McCain ran for a 19-yard score in the win.
