Saturday's Games

Class A South

Toms River South 22, Lacey 15

Senior quarterback Tymere Berry ran for a 24-yard touchdown and senior running back Khaleel Greene added a two-point conversion run midway through the fourth quarter with the Indians (3-1, 2-1) down by a point to give them a comeback win over the Lions (0-4, 0-4).

Berry also had a 58-yard touchdown run and Greene added a 7-yard touchdown run in the win.

Senior quarterback Conor Davies threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Sean Cahalane with 10:05 left in the game to give Lacey a 15-14 lead. Junior kicker Pat Davis added field goals of 39, 30 and 29 yards in the loss for Lacey.

No. 2 Brick 30, No. 7 Jackson Memorial 24 (OT)

The Green Dragons (4-0, 4-0) won an overtime thriller against the defending Class A South champion Jaguars (3-1, 2-1) as senior quarterback Carmen Sclafani scored on a one-yard run in overtime and then the defense came up with a stop on fourth-and-2 to seal the win.

Sclafani ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Senior tight end Simon Bingelis had a 48-yard touchdown catch, and senior wideout Ja'Quez Johnson caught a 7-yard touchdown on fourth-and-goal with 4:47 left in the game that helped tie it at 24 after K.C. Stackable's extra point. Stackable also had a 31-yard field goal in the win.

Junior tailback Vinny Lee ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns, and Kyle Johnson threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to wideout Aaron Curet on a reverse pass in the loss for Jackson Memorial. Jared Calhoun added a 22-yard field goal for the Jaguars.

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 36, Keyport 0 

The Seraphs (3-1, 3-0) posted their first shutout since 2009 and routed the Red Raiders (0-4, 0-3) for their first win over Keyport since 1996 thanks to a big game by senior quarterback Christian Palmer, who ran for one score and threw three touchdown passes.

Palmer had a 45-yard touchdown run and also threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Zach Bragg as well as touchdown strikes to sophomore wideout Eddie Lewis and senior Tysaun White in the win.

Nonconference

Middlesex 20, Asbury Park 6

Junior wideout Jaedon Stephens had a touchdown catch from Sal Swain, but it was not enough as the Blue Bishops (0-4) fell to the Blue Jays (4-0).

South River 22, Keansburg 16 (OT)

Quarterback Ian Terry ran for a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 16 and the defense made a goal-line stand on fourth down at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, but the Titans (1-3) came up just short as the Rams (2-2) scored in the extra period to take the win.

Sunday's Game

Nondivisional

Southern 7, Howell 0

Pat Walker had a nine-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and the defense made it stand up by holding the Rebels (1-3) under 100 total yards to give the Rams (2-2) the win.
