Class A Central

No. 10 Rumson-FH 27, Raritan 7

Sophomore quarterback Mike O'Connor threw touchdown passes of 26 and 27 yards, both to wideout Murray McHeffey, and also ran for touchdowns of 90 and 16 yards to lead the Bulldogs (5-2, 4-1) past the Rockets (3-4, 1-3).

Vito Aleo had a 12-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the loss for Raritan.

Matawan 23, Manasquan 6

Junior linebacker Isiah Phillip had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown, senior Adam Elliot booted a career-high three field goals of 29, 25 and 34 yards, and junior cornerback Dejohn Rogers returned a fumble for a 10-yard score to help the Huskies (4-4, 4-2) pick up a key win over the Warriors (3-4, 2-3).

Senior James McAlary had a 25-yard touchdown catch from Liam Grieb in the loss for Manasquan.

No. 3 St. John Vianney 55, Monmouth 14

Senior running back Aaron Mora ran for a career-high four touchdowns as the Lancers (8-0, 5-0) clinched at least a tie for the Class A Central title, their first division title since 1982, by rolling past the Falcons (2-5, 1-4).

Juniors Jeff Sheard, Calvin Beaty, Khalil Haskins and quarterback Anthony Brown each added touchdowns on the ground as the Lancers rolled up 518 yards rushing and only attempted one pass.

Class A South

No. 7 Brick 30, Toms River North 13

Senior quarterback Carmen Sclafani erupted for 250 yards rushing and four touchdowns and K.C. Stackable hit a 25-yard field goal as the Green Dragons (7-1, 6-0) clinched at least a tie for the Class A South title by beating the Mariners (5-3, 4-3).

Sophomore quarterback Mike Husni had a 22-yard touchdown run and sophomore Bryce Watts ran for a 50-yard touchdown in the loss for Toms River North.

Class B North

No. 1 Red Bank Catholic 46, Ocean 13

Junior quarterback Eddie Hahn had a sensational all-around game with touchdown runs of 2 and 59 yards, a pair of touchdown passes and an interception return for a touchdown on defense as the Caseys (8-0, 6-0) clinched the outright Class B North crown for their fifth straight division title by winning their 40th straight game against Shore Conference competition by rolling past the Spartans (2-5, 2-3).

Hahn threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Steve Dnistrian and a 10-yard scoring pass to Mike DeMonte, senior tailback Mike Cordova added a 37-yard touchdown run, and Vince Gallo booted a field goal for the Caseys.

Sophomore quarterback Kenny Pickett threw a 60-yard touchdown to senior wideout Marcus Blackman in the loss for Ocean, which was dealt a tough blow, as standout junior tailback Tyler Thompson suffered a season-ending broken leg.

Wall 30, Colts Neck 14

Junior quarterback Matt Cluley had a pair of touchdown runs and Rich Eknoian added a 2-yard touchdown run to help the Crimson Knights (2-6, 1-5) top the Cougars (0-8, 0-5).

Class B Central

Shore 17, Point Beach 0

Junior fullback Doug Goldsmith ran for 145 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries and the Blue Devils (6-1, 4-0) held the Garnet Gulls (5-3, 3-1) to 133 total yards to clinch at least a tie for their second straight Class B Central title.

Junior running back Tyreek McCain added a 15-yard touchdown run and senior Jake Monteiro booted a 37-yard field goal in the win.

Class B South

Central 48, Donovan Catholic 28

Sophomore Mike Bickford ran for touchdowns of 28, 2, and 6 yards and also had a 56-yard interception return for a touchdown to help the Golden Eagles (5-2, 5-1) roll past the Griffins (0-8, 0-6) to put them one win away from their first division championship since 1994.

Junior quarterback Mike Miserendino also had a big night, running for a 36-yard touchdown and throwing an 85-yard bomb for a score to wideout Anthony Arneth, who also had a 36-yard touchdown catch for Central.

Junior running back David Calderon had a big game in defeat for Donovan Catholic with a 55-yard touchdown run, an 85-yard touchdown run, and an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Barnegat 24, Lakewood 22

A trick play pass from junior running back Paul Wickwire back to quarterback Cinjun Erskine for a touchdown in the third quarter gave the Bengals (6-1, 5-1) a 24-14 lead and they held on to knock off the Piners (4-3, 4-2) for a big divisional win.

Erskine also had a pair of 6-yard touchdown runs in the victory, and Connor Lustenberger kicked a 20-yard field goal.

Senior quarterback Chapelle Cook ran for a 3-yard touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to senior tight end Datrell Reed, and junior Amir Tyler added a 3-yard touchdown run in the loss for Lakewood.

Point Boro 33, Jackson Liberty 10

Five different players scored as the Panthers (4-4, 4-2) ended a three-game losing streak and knocked the Lions (4-4, 4-2) out of first place with the win.

Gene Franceschini had a 17-yard touchdown run, Devin Connelly scored on a 4-yard run, Jack Fitzsimmons had a 1-yard score, Nate Husak also scored from a yard out, and Hayden Frey caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in the win.

Pinelands 33, Manchester 6

Jaylin Roman and Jake Stuerze each had a pair of touchdown runs as the Wildcats (2-6, 2-4) picked up their first win of the season on the field by routing the Hawks (0-7, 0-6).

Nondivisional

Red Bank 52, Holmdel 28

Junior quarterback Jack Navitsky threw a career-high four touchdown passes and junior Sadiq Palmer scored three touchdowns as the Bucs (3-4) exploded in a win over the Hornets (2-5) to end a four-game losing streak.

Navitsky threw touchdowns of 35 and 44 yards to Palmer, who also had a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown on defense. Navitsky also threw a 65-yard scoring pass to junior Teddy Mitchell and a 16-yard strike to senior Jimmy Ferrogine. Junior Jack O'Connor also booted a field goal in the win. Sophomore Tyrese Morris added a 5-yard touchdown run in the win, and Alim Godsey broke off a 65-yard scoring run.

Matt Reardon and Jalen Willis also added interceptions to help the defensive effort for the Bucs.

Senior running back Frank Condito had three rushing touchdowns in the loss for Holmdel.

Nonconference

Middletown North 28, North Brunswick 0

Junior tailback Chad Freshnock had 117 yards rushing and a touchdown and also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass, while the defense held the Raiders (2-6) to 48 yards of total offense to lead the Lions (5-2) to the win.

Wideout Jordan Pitts had a 75-yard touchdown run and also hauled in a 23-yard touchdown catch in the win, as sophomore quarterback Donald Glenn went 12-for-15 for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the air. Senior linebacker Troy Thompson had an interception that helped set up a touchdown to lead the defense.

Edison 22, Freehold Township 20

Junior quarterback Jack O'Brien threw three touchdown passes, including an 80-yard touchdown to Anthony Lotti with 10:30 left in the game that cut it to 22-20, but the Eagles (2-5) came up with a stop on the two-point conversion attempt and held on to knock off the Patriots (3-5).

O'Brien also threw a 55-yard touchdown to Kyle Fenton and a 22-yard strike to Frank Suglia in the loss.

Mater Dei Prep 50, Highland Park 14

Senior quarterback Christian Palmer went 4-for-6 for 102 yards passing and two touchdowns and also ran for 56 yards and a touchdown as the Seraphs (6-2) rolled past the Owls (0-7).

Sophomore wide receiver Eddie Lewis had his second straight 100-yard receiving game with three catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns, and he also returned a punt for a touchdown in the win.
