Hamilton Post 31 (4) - Point Pleasant Boro (3)

Point Boro lost a very close game to a tough Hamilton Post 31 team that is made up of players from Steinert High School.
Boro took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a two-out single by sophomore Tom Paul that scored junior Sebastian Severio, who doubled earlier.

Hamilton tied the game with an unearned run in the fifth. In the eighth, Panthers sophomore Damon Del Priore hit an RBI single, scoring Frank Graziano, who had led off the inning with a single.

In the top of the ninth Hamilton Post 31 rallied for three runs on four consecutive singles to take a 4-2 lead. The Panthers would not go away easily, as junior Mark Leyble drew a lead off walk in the bottom of the ninth, followed by a single to center by Thomas Paul that put runners on first and third.

Junior Ryan Carne then picked up an RBI on a fielders choice that was thrown away, moving Carne to second as the tying run with one out. However, Hamilton changed pitchers and shut down the Panthers to end the game.
