Class A South

No. 6 Jackson Memorial 2, Southern 1

Garrett Muzikowski scored his seventh goal of the season 7:14 into overtime and the Jaguars (5-1-1, 2-1-1) edged the Rams (3-4-1, 1-3-1) to give ninth-year coach Steve Bado his 100th career win. Muzikowski took the ball off a throw-in, dribbled past two defenders and ripped a short-range shot that deflected off Southern goalkeeper Jared Grady and inside the near post for the winner.

Chris Starner scored the equalizer for Southern in the 69th minute after Joey Stoltenberg staked Jackson Memorial to a 1-0 lead in the 66th.

Toms River South 3, Brick 2

Dino Vitale, Junior Villamizar and Ryan Shiffer each scored a goal and the Indians (2-2-1, 2-2-0) edged the Green Dragons (0-5-1, 0-4-1) for their second straight win after a 0-2-1 start. Casey Stackable and Kyle Reinstadtler each scored a goal for Brick, which has dropped three games by a one-goal margin.

No. 5 Toms River North 2, Brick Memorial 1

Sean Graham converted a penalty kick in the 43rd minute and Sean Moore scored off a pass from Sal Turelli in the 56th for a key insurance goal as the Mariners (4-1-1, 4-0-1) held on to beat the Mustangs and remain unbeaten in Class A South.

Kevin Simek scored on a direct free kick in the 67th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1, but goalkeeper Brian Brannagan and the Toms River North defense held.

Toms River East 2, Lacey 0

Jon Meola scored 12 minutes into the game off a feed from Josh Sommerer and Sommerer later added a goal of his own in the 68th minute as the Raiders (3-2, 3-2) snapped a two-game skid while ending a four-game winning streak by the Lions (4-2, 3-2).

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 2, Henry Hudson 0

Nic Geneve scored the Seraphs' first goal of the season in the 19th minute and Danny Poracky added one in the 34th to pace Mater Dei Prep (1-6, 1-4) to a win over the Admirals (0-4, 0-4).

Point Beach 2, Ranney 1

Kyle Kaifais scored in the 75th minute to break a 1-1 tie and push the Garnet Gulls (4-1, 3-1) past the Panthers (1-4, 1-3). Charlie Turro opened the scoring eight minutes into the game for Point Beach.

Asbury Park 2, Shore 1

Senior striker Jose Cesaire scored twice in the final six minutes and the Blue Bishops (3-1, 3-1) beat the Blue Devils (5-2, 3-1) to end Shore's 30-game winning streak against Class B Central opponents that dates back to 2010. Cesaire scored the game-tying goal in the 75th minute and notched the winner in the 78th.

Cesaire has scored in each of Asbury Park's first four games and has scored twice in three of them, giving him seven goals on the season.

Shore sophomore J.T. Kessler broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 72nd minute. The Blue Devils also had a shot hit the crossbar in the final minute as they hurried to tie the game.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 4, Barnegat 3

Jake Woodring, Quin Harnish and Sam Monaco scored first-half goals to stake their team to a 3-0 halftime lead and the Panthers (5-2, 5-0) survived a second-half rally by the Bengals (2-5, 1-4) for one-goal victory.

Reese Hardy and Kyle Heidel scored goals four minutes apart in the 43rd and 47th minutes to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Ryan Griffith added an insurance tally for Point Boro in the 49th. Kidron Stolte scored in the 67th to pull Barnegat within a goal, but the Panthers would not surrender another score.

Central 4, Lakewood 1

Junior Blake Czajkowski scored two goals and added an assist while Doug Jensen had a goal and two assists as the Golden Eagles (4-1, 4-1) rolled past the Piners (1-5, 1-4). Youssef Abdelaziz added a goal for Central in the win.

Jackson Liberty at Pinelands - PPD, TBA

Monsignor Donovan 4, Manchester 0

Sean Suskevich scored two goals, the second on a penalty kick in the second half, and the Griffins (4-1-2, 4-1-0) beat the Hawks (1-6, 1-4). Mike Dalton and Jake Maxwell each added a goal for Monsignor Donovan.
