No. 4 Freehold Twp. 2, Neptune 0

Adrian Barajas and Andrew DiBella each scored a goal in the second half and the Patriots (8-3, 7-3) took down the Scarlet Fliers (1-7, 1-7) after a scoreless first half. Barajas scored on a header and DiBella capitalized on a Neptune turnover in the back in the 74th.

No. 1 CBA 2, Colts Neck 1

Colin Lankau and Matt Mawson scored within one minute of one another in the second half and the Colts (11-0, 8-0) erased a one-goal deficit to beat the Cougars (5-6, 4-6) and remain perfect to open the season. Aaron Robertson and Matt Thorsheim assisted the two goals.

No. 2 Marlboro 3, Howell 1

P.J. Ringel notched a hat trick to help the Mustangs (10-1, 8-1) overcome an early 1-0 deficit and beat the Rebels (1-8, 1-8) for their ninth straight win.

Joe Masino gave Howell a 1-0 lead with a goal 10 minutes into the game before Ringel score the equalizer in the 20th off an assist from Brian Dates and the go-ahead goal a minute before halftime.

 

Class A Central

No. 6 Matawan 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Jacob Labinger and Keleb Mehari scoored to stake the Huskies to an early lead and Liam Nappi later added an insurace goal as Matawan (8-2-1, 7-2-1) held on to beat the Bulldogs (4-7, 3-5).

Carson Greengrove scored to cut Matawan's lead to 2-1 and freshman Kiel Forlenza added his first varsity goal to close the gap to 3-2.

Shore 4, Holmdel 2

Four different Shore players scored a goal and the Blue Devils (4-3-4, 3-2-3) beat the Hornets (5-4-1, 4-4-1) to end a three-game losing streak. Brothers Dante and Leonardo Montesinos each scored a goal for Shore, as did Stevie Johnson and Matt Dutra.

Red Bank 3, St. John Vianney 2

Raul Rodreguiez scored a goal and assisted another as the Bucs (4-5-1, 4-3-1) held on for a win over the Lancers (2-9, 1-9). Robbie DeMarco and Israel Olivera also added a goal each and Max Lane contributed two assists in the win as well.

John Caracappa and Nick Ruggerio each scored for St. John Vianney.

 

Class A South

Southern 3, Jackson Memorial 2 (OT)

Joe Kiernan scored two goals, including the golden goal in overtime as the Rams (8-3, 6-3) downed the Jaguars (5-6, 4-6) for the second time this season.

Southern trailed 2-0 after Jackson Memorial goals by Christian Fryc and Andrew Jenkins within two minutes of one another in the first half. Dylan Blauvelt scored the first Southern goal in the 35th minute to ignite the comeback and Kiernan tallied the equalizer in the 54th.

 

Class B North

No. 8 Middletown North 3, Long Branch 2

Justin McKenna assisted goals by Elliot De La Rosa and Ryan Harmon and Liam McGregor also added a goal to help the Lions (7-2-1, 7-2-0) stave off a challenge from the Green Wave (3-8, 3-7).

Renan Acevedo assisted a goal by Venancio Fernandes in the 12th minute and buried a booming direct kick in the 55th to pull Long Branch within 3-2.

Middletown South 3, Red Bank Catholic 1

Nick Cataneo, Danny Minze and Tyler Jerome each found the back of the net and the Eagles (5-6-1, 4-5-1) rolled to a win over the Caseys (1-11, 0-10).

No. 10 Wall 1, Monmouth 0

Dan Frisch-Harmon scored the game's lone goal and the Crimson Knights (8-3-2, 7-1-2) edged the Falcons (1-11, 1-9) for their seventh consecutive win.

No. 5 Ocean 1, No. 7 Manasquan 0 (OT)

Ivan Molina's cross went off the head of a Manasquan defender and inside the near post for the golden goal in overtime and the Spartans (9-1, 8-1) topped the Warriors (8-3-1, 7-2-1) to give coach Tom Reilly his 400th career win.

Junior Steve Carton challenged the ball in the air crossed in by Molina and forced the game-deciding mistake.

 

Class B Central

Ranney 1, Mater Dei 0

Ian Dobrzynski scored the game's lone goal on an assist from Asher Kraut and the Panthers (8-3, 7-1) clipped the Seraphs (1-8, 1-6) to remain in the B Central hunt.

 

Non-Conference

No. 9 Asbury Park 3, Roselle 1

Davensky JoinVilmar scored two goals and Stevenson Jean Baptiste added another to help the Blue Bishops (9-0) win their ninth straight to open the season.
