Freehold 3, Freehold Twp. 2

John McGackin scored the game-winning goal to break a 2-2 tie and the Colonials (6-6-3, 5-6-2) upended the Patriots (7-5-1, 7-5-1) to keep their hopes of a Shore Conference Tournament berth alive. Dom Matteo assisted a goal by Matt Schertzer and later gave Freehold a 2-1 lead with a goal of his own.

Mark Fasano and Nick Facendo scored the two Freehold Township goals. Freehold can clinch an SCT berth with a tie against Manalapan on Friday.

Howell 2, Middletown South 1

Leroy Anderson scored two goals in the first half and the Rebels (3-9-2, 3-8-2) held on to beat the Eagles (1-14, 1-12). Ian Breyer scored five minutes into the second half to end Middletown South's stretch of 10 games without a goal.

No. 6 CBA 2, No. 2 Manalapan 1

Matt Thorsheim drew a foul on a takedown inside the 18-yard box and converted the ensuing penalty kick to deliver the Colts (9-3-1, 9-3-1) a win over the Braves (10-2-2, 9-2-2), keeping their hopes of a division championship alive. CBA can win the Class A North championship if it defeats Marlboro Freehold beats Manalapan on Friday.

Manalapan tied the game in the 68th minute on a header by Adam Weisberger off a Mitchel Volis corner kick. CBA grabbed a 1-0 advantage when Tom Lozowski one-timed a chip by Sean Leister on a free kick out of the air and into the net in the 44th.

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 4, Monmouth 1

Rohan Ghandi scored two goals and the Hornets (7-6-1, 6-4-1) topped the Falcons (7-9, 4-7) to clinch a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament. Gino D'Agostino and Rob Ceriello each added a goal for Holmdel, with D'Agostino also chipping in an assist. Nick Chrystal also had two assists for the Hornets.

Manasquan 1, St. John Vianney 0 (OT)

Tolga Guven scored the golden goal during the second overtime period off a pass from Enrique Perez and the Warriors (9-6-1, 6-4-1) topped the Lancers (6-4, 6-4). The St. John Vianney loss gives Matawan no worse than a share of the Class A Central division title, which the Huskies can win outright with a tie against Manasquan on Friday or a St. John Vianney loss or tie against either Holmdel on Saturday or Rumson-Fair Haven on Tuesday.

Class B North

Long Branch 4, Red Bank Catholic 1

Guilherme DeNovaes scored three goals and Gregory Borba chipped in a goal to help the Green Wave (8-6, 5-5) beat the Caseys (2-12, 2-9) and qualify for the SCT. Jack Corcoran tied the game for Red Bank Catholic in the 28th minute before DeNovaes scored three unanswered goals between the 38th and 54th minutes.

No. 5 Wall 3, Neptune 0

Zach Hetzel, Brendan Barcas and Dean Sabo each scored a goal to lead the Crimson Knights (10-3-1, 8-2-1) a win over the Scarlet Fliers (1-12-1, 0-11-0). Wall can clinch a Class B North title on Friday by beating Ocean.

Ocean 3, Colts Neck 2

Junior Wadneson Alexis posted a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in the second half, and the Spartans (8-5-1, 8-2-1) topped the Cougars (7-7, 6-5) to force a winner-take-all game against Wall on Friday, with the winner taking the Class B North championship. A draw would result in a shared division title between the teams.

Marlhens Nasanes assisted two of the goals by Alexis, while Teddy Eugenis assisted the other. Taylor Demick scored in the third minute for Colts Neck and Louis Reale pulled the Cougars even at 2 with a goal in the second half.
