The St. John Vianney boys soccer team kept its hopes of winning the Shore Conference Class A Central division title alive Monday and did so with a little flair.

Senior Christian Bruno scored an insurance goal in the 61st minute with a overhead volley off a pass from junior Dave Kamaner and the Lancers beat Monmouth Regional, 2-0, Monday afternoon.

Senior Alex Politi scored the first goal off an assist from junior Marc Urbealis to give St. John Vianney a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute. St. John Vianney is even with Matawan in the loss and tie columns in the standings and can win at least a share of Class A Central by winning its last three division games against Manasquan, Holmdel and Rumson-Fair Haven.
