Class A South

No. 9 Lacey 2, Jackson Memorial 1

Freshman Kip Byrne knocked a diagonal cross from senior Rob Biele to the far left side netting in the 68th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Lions a win over the Jaguars. Biele also scored Lacey's first goal of the game in the 24th minute to tie the game at 1. He flicked a header on a long service by Kevin Miller past goalkeeper Dylan Kanner.

Jackson Memorial grabbed a 1-0 lead 1:52 into the game when Mike Schoener ripped a shot off the far right post and in after Nick Schlageter played him the ball up the field. Jackson Memorial played a man down for the final 32 minutes after Joey Stoltenberg was issued a red card for a tackle from behind.

Toms River East 3, Brick Memorial 2

Senior Marcelo Duarte scored the golden goal on a Kyle Unger four minutes into overtime and the Raiders beat the Mustangs in a back-and-forth game.

Sophomore Santino Celebre gave Toms River East a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 52nd minute, which came two minutes after Lou Nazzaro tied the game with a goal in the 50th.

Erik Fatovic scored the second Brick Memorial equalizer on an assist from Nazzaro in the  67th. Toms River East opened the scoring in the 23rd on an own goal.

Toms River South 2, Toms River North 1

Senior Cameron Geerinck scored on a counter-attack in the 49th minute to break a 1-1 tie and the Indians held on to beat the Mariners to keep pace with Lacey for first place in the Class A South standings.

The two rivals traded goals in the 16th and 18th minutes, with Tom Butz finding the back of the net on a 40-yard free kick to give Toms River North the 1-0 lead and Mike Tapp answering for Toms River South on a rebound off the crossbar.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 3, Asbury Park 2

Matheus Giaculi scored two goals and Phil Cantave added another as the Seraphs beat the Blue Bishops to remain unbeaten over their last four.

St. Rose 6, Henry Hudson 0

Jack Cusack scored two goals and Matt O'Malley and Ethan Bodine each chipped in a goal and an assist to lead the Purple Roses to a win over the Admirals. Mike Gowen and Anthony Demaio also scored a goal apiece for St. Rose.

Point Beach 5, Ranney 4

Sophomore Aris Papoutsakis recorded his second hat trick of the season to increase his goal total to 13 and the Garnet Gulls outlasted the Panthers. Papoutsakis also assisted goals by Johan Rosa and Andrew Garr.

Shane Keenan and Ian Dobrzynski each scored two goals for Ranney, with Dobrzynski also chipping in an assist.

No. 2 Shore 5, Keyport 2

J.T. Kessler scored two goals and the Blue Devils defeated the Red Raiders for their ninth straight win to open the season. Dante Montesinos, Brett Norman and Mikey Barreca each added a goal for Shore.

Brendan O'Briean scored both Keyport goals.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 4, Manchester 0

Sam Monaco had a goal and an assist and Mason Remondelli, Mike Brown and Dominic Peters each added a goal to help the Panthers beat the Hawks for their sixth straight win. Taylor Haines saved nine shots to earn the shutout.

Central 1, Barnegat 0

Shane Cranstoun scored in the 39th minute to send the Golden Eagles to halftime with the lead and goalkeeper Tom Ruscitti and Central held on to beat the Bengals.

Pinelands 4, Jackson Liberty 1

Denilson Salgado scored two goals and Matt O'Connell added a goal and two assists to help lead the Wildcats to a win over the Lions. Jordan Humphreys also scored a goal to pull Pinelands even at 1 after Kevin Garry gave Jackson Liberty the lead with a goal in the sixth minute.
