Middletown North 1, Freehold 0

Jim Kelly scored off a pass from Jordan Robinson in the 68th minute and the Lions (2-3-2, 2-2-2) made that goal hold up in a win over the Colonials (1-5-1, 1-5-0). Middletown North is unbeaten over its last four games (2-0-2) after a 0-3 start.

No. 1 Manalapan 2, No. 5 Freehold Twp. 0

Eric Wilkinson knocked in the deciding goal off a long ball from Miles Schindler in the 32nd minute and Mitchell Volis added an insurance tally in the 76th to help the Braves (5-0-1, 4-0-1) beat the Patriots (4-2, 4-2) and remain unbeaten.

Manalapan senior forward Ryan Hammer (11 goals) failed to score a goal for the first time this season, but did register the assist on Volis' goal.

CBA 2, Howell 1

Russell Romano scored in the second minute and John Frycz added a his third goal of the season against Howell in the 29th minute to help the Colts (4-3, 4-3) beat the Rebels (2-4-1, 2-3-1) for their second straight win. Frycz scored two goals against the Rebels in the opening-day game between the two teams.

Tyler Johnson scored the lone Howell goal.

Marlboro 3, Middletown South 0

Bryan DaSilva assisted a goal by Ben Metzger in the 12th minute and scored one in the 19th as the Mustangs (4-2, 4-2) struck for three first-half goals en route to a win over the Eagles (1-7, 1-5). P.J. Ringel added the third Marlboro goal in the 39th minute.

 

Class A Central

Monmouth 1, St. John Vianney 0

Matt Doucette finished a pass from Bobby Riordan in the 52nd minute for the game's lone goal and the Falcons (5-3, 2-2) edged the Lancers (1-2, 1-2) for a key A Central win.

Matawan 3, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Alex Cella scored two goals to up his season total to nine and the Huskies (5-1, 4-1) moved into first place in Class A Central with a win over the Bulldogs (1-4-1, 1-2-1). Bronson Dhume scored the second Matawan goal, with Cella opening and closing the Huskies scoring.

Paul Criscitiello scored the lone Rumson goal.

Manasquan 1, Raritan 0

Fran Bautista buried a flicked header from fellow sophomore Brian Tapia and the goal was enough to pace the Warriors (5-2-1, 2-1-1) to a win over the Rockets (2-4-1, 0-4-0). Brian Comer earned the shutout in goal, his second of the season.

 

Class B North

Long Branch 3, No. 6 Ocean 1

Guilherme De Novaes scored his 11th and 12th goals of the season and Manny Camacho added a goal of his own as the Green Wave (5-2, 2-2) topped the Spartans (3-4, 3-1), handing Ocean its first loss within the B North division.

Teddy Eugenis scored to put Ocean up 1-0 in the 25th minute.

No. 7 Red Bank 5, No. 10 Colts Neck 2

Justin Gilson scored three goals and the Bucs (4-2, 3-2) halted a two-game skid by steamrolling the Cougars (4-3, 3-2) and ending their four-game winning streak. Sam MacPherson scored on a free kick in the first half and Jacob Curtis extended Red Bank's lead to 4-1 with a goal in the second half, assisted by Gilson.

Dylan Fogerty added two assists for Red Bank. Taylor Demick and Brian Knauf accounted for the two Colts Neck goals.

No. 8 Wall 1, Red Bank Catholic 0

Brendan Barcas scored off a feed from Connor Fry in the seventh minute and the Crimson Knights (5-2, 4-1) and goalkeeper Jack Wishart shut out the Caseys (1-4, 1-3).

 

Class B Central

Ranney 2, Henry Hudson 0

Freshman Marc Greenstein scored the game-winning goal and Shane Keenan added two assists to help lead the Panthers (1-4, 1-3) to a win over the Admirals (0-5, 0-5), their first of the season.

 

Class B South

Pinelands 5, Lakewood 0

Matt O'Connell scored two goals and to go with an assist and the Wildcats (3-2, 3-2) stormed past the Piners (0-7-1, 0-5-1) for their second straight win. Rabi Orellana added a goal and two assists, while Donovan Duelly and Austin Hart each added a goal for Pinelands.
