Class A Central

Monmouth 3, Holmdel 1

Sophomore Joel Burgos scored two goals on assists by senior Bobby Riordan and the Falcons beat the Hornets for their third straight win. Senior Ross Spadavecchia scored the other Monmouth goal off a pass from freshman Brian Waltsak.

St. John Vianney 3, Manasquan 2

John Caracappa scored the equalizer and set up the game-winner by Zack Richards as the Lancers overcame two different one-goal deficits to beat the Warriors. Caracappa finished off a through ball from David Kamenar and served a free kick to the back post, where Richards headed it home for the winner.

Richards also scored St. John Vianney's first goal on a penalty kick, which tied the game at 1 before halftime.

Brendan Kelly scored both Manasquan goals on headers off set pieces, the first set up by Chris Black and the second by Aaron Kocienski.

No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Raritan 0

Senior Jamie Martin scored a goal and assisted the other by sophomore Owen Greengrove to help the Bulldogs beat the Rockets for their eight straight win to open the season. Junior goalkeeper Markar Krikorian earned his first shutout of the season and junior Sam Sapnar also chipped in an assist on Martin's goal.

 

Class A South

Toms River South 3, Toms River East 1

Francesco LoScrudato, Cameron Geerinck and Dylan Parks each scored a goal and the Indians beat the Raiders for their fifth straight win. Christian Zamora scored the lone Toms River East goal.

No. 10 Toms River North 2, Brick 1

Junior Jason Garcia and senior Joey Hertgen each scored in the first half and the Mariners held on to beat the Green Dragons.

Senir Brendan Laird scored in the second half to pull Brick within a goal.

 

Class B North

No. 7 Long Branch 2, Red Bank Catholic 0

Sophomores Hernan Acevedo and Venancio Fernandes each scored a first-half goal and the Green Wave held on to beat the Caseys.

No. 6 Wall 4, Neptune 0

Junior Ryan Gordan scored two goals and the Crimson Knights rolled to a win over the Scarlet Fliers, the fifth shutout of the season for Wall and goalkeeper Nolan Cloney. Senior Chris Fay opened the scoring on one of two assists by Japheth Segura and Reilly Barcas added the other Wall goal on an assist by Dan Frisch-Harmon.

No. 4 Ocean 2, Colts Neck 1 (OT)

Marlhens Nasanes drilled a shot from just inside the 18-yard box off the crossbar and over the endline 1:39 into extra time and the Spartans survived an overtime battle with the Cougars. Nasanes settled a failed clearance before unleashing his game-winning strike.

Colts Neck and Ocean traded goals during the late stages of the first half, beginning with a header out of a scrum by senior Rob Berdell to give Colts Neck a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute. Senior Ryan Wells tied the game 1:06 later with a free kick from just inside midfield that cleared the goalkeeper and found the net in the 35th.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 2, Jackson Liberty 1

Junior Matt Kimak and senior Sam Monaco each scored a first-half goal and the Panthers topped the Lions to move back into first place in Class B South. Monaco's goal came on a header of a corner kick to make the score 2-0. Senior Bryan Garry converted a second-half penalty kick for Jackson Liberty's only score.
