Class A North

Howell 4, Middletown North 2

Tyler DiGiovanni scored two goals - one in each half - and the Rebels (2-5-2, 2-5-2) beat the Lions (4-6-1, 4-6-0) to end a five-game winless streak. Kyle Yuro and Matt Szyarto each added a goal for Howell, which dug out of an early 1-0 hole to pick up the win.

Ramziz Habiby opened the scoring for Middletown North in the fifth minute and Sean Moccaro added a goal in the 77th minute.

No. 8 CBA 5, Middletown South 0

James Cavanaugh opened the scoring for CBA to open the floodgates and the Colts (7-3-1, 7-3-1) rolled to a win over the Eagles. Nikko Plakoudas, Gianluca DiUbaldi, Russell Romano and Brooks Grimes each added a goal in the win.

No. 7 Colts Neck 1, Marlboro 0

No. 6 Freehold Twp. 0, No. 2 Manalapan 0

Braves goalkeeper Ethan Siegel saved a penalty kick by sophomore Chris Hoskins in the 50th minute to keep the Patriots off the board and Manalapan (9-1-1, 8-1-1) beat the Freehold Township (8-3-1, 7-3-1) to remain in first place in Class A North.

Manalapan had two near goals late, the first on a header by Ryan Hammer that hit the right post in the 72nd minute and a shot by Matt Dizenhaus that hit the bottom of the crossbar in the fifth minute of overtime.

 

Class A Central

No. 4 Holmdel 3, Red Bank Catholic 1

The Hornets (10-1-1, 8-1-1) bounced back from a 1-0 deficit to beat the Caseys (5-6-1, 4-6-0) and remain in first place in Class A Central. Jason Kyriacou scored a goal and assisted Rohan Ghandi's game-tying goal. Jack Flanagan scored the game-winner for Holmdel.

Sophomore Kyle Bates opened the scoring for Red Bank Catholic.

Manasquan 1, Monmouth 1

Rich Comer scored the game-tying goal in the 77th minute to spoil a bid by the Falcons for their first division win. Ross Spadavecchia gave Monmouth an early lead with a goal in the ninth minute off a pass from Paul Gonzalez.

No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 3, No. 9 Raritan 2 (OT)

Mike Slutz scored with 3:49 left in the second overtime period and the Bulldogs (10-1-1, 7-1-1) picked up a critical overtime win over the Rockets (6-3-2, 4-3-2) to keep pace with Holmdel in the Class A Central race.

John McAree scored off a Dan Owens pass in the 77th minute to pull Raritan even at 2-2 after Eamon Kitson scored his second goal of the game in the 60th minute to put Rumson on top. Kitson opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and both of his goals were assisted by Harry Gassert.

Ryan Casciani scored Raritan's first goal 1:28 into the second half off a feed from McAree.

 

Class B North

Red Bank 5, Neptune 0

Dylan Fogerty and Justin Gilson scored two goals each and the Bucs (5-6-1, 5-4-1) extended their unbeaten streak to five with a win over the Scarlet Fliers (4-7-2, 2-5-2). Sam MacPherson also scored a goal for Red Bank.

Matawan at Wall, PPD - Oct. 19

Gregory Borba scored his first varsity goal in the 36th minute and the Green Wave (4-6-2, 2-5-2) hung on to beat the Colonials (2-7-3, 2-4-3).

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 2, Mater Dei Prep 0

Jose Cesaire scored two goals off feeds from Priory Salomon and the Blue Bishops (7-2-0, 7-2-0) beat the Seraphs (2-11-0, 2-7-0) to remain in the Class B Central race.

Non-Division

No. 1 Ocean 1, Shore 0

Wadneson Alexis scored in the 44th minute and the Spartans (7-1-4) shut out the Blue Devils (8-5-0), with senior goalkeeper Chris Seager picking up the shutout.
