Class A North

Howell 4, Freehold 0

Senior Connor Hansen scored in the 16th minute to give Howell (1-1, 1-1) a one-goal halftime lead and the Rebels scored three times in the second half to pull away and hand the Colonials (2-1, 0-1) their first loss of the season.

Senior Tim Mortillaro added a goal two minutes into the second half and both senior Alex Behan and junior Brad Kolczynski tacked on goals in the final 15 minutes to put the game away.

 

Class A South

Toms River South 8, Brick 0

Senior Cameron Geerinck recoreded a hat trick and senior Francesco LoScrudato added two goals of his own as the Indians (1-1, 1-0) coasted to a win over the Green Dragons (0-2, 0-1). Junior Cole Clayton and sophomore Matt Babcock also scored a goal each for Toms River South.

 

Non-Division

Holmdel 1, Colts Neck 1

Senior Jesse Dopelt scored with seven seconds left in regulation off a cross by senior Hunter Chapman to send the game into overtime and the Hornets (1-1-1) salvaged a draw with the Cougars (1-1-1). Holmdel goalkeeper Tyler Marchiano denied Colts Neck on a breakaway opportunity during overtime to preserve the tie.

Sophomore Zack Ferchak scored off a failed clearance 22nd minute to give Colts Neck a 1-0 lead. Ferchak and senior Rob Berdel each had clean chances inside the 18-yard box that sailed over the crossbar and Holmdel sophomore Justin McStay hit a shot off the post in the final minute of the first overtime period.

Long Branch 5, Monmouth 0

Sophomore Hernan Acevedo scored two goals and sophomore Venancio Fernandes scored his fourth in three games to help the Green Wave (2-1)  roll to a win over the Falcons (2-2). Senior Leo DaSilva and Ecson Secaida each added a goal and sophomore Juan Carlos Merino assisted two of the five goals.

Neptune 3, Raritan 0

Freshman Wilby Alfred scored a goal and dished out an assist, while senior Tyler Schembri and sophomore Dylan Schembri each scored a goal as the Scarlet Fliers (2-2) used three second-half goals to top the Rockets (1-2).

Barnegat 4, Southern 1

Sophomore Avery Boyer scored two goals - including the first goal four minutes into the match - and added an assist to help spark the Bengals (1-2) to a win over the Rams (0-2).

Freshman Ricky Norman assisted Boyer's second goal in the 64th minute, then capped the scoring with his first varsity goal in the 70th. Boyer assisted a goal by Nico Veneziano in the 30th minute that gave Barnegat a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Junior Luke Kretschmer scored the lone Southern goal in the 48th minute, which temporarily cut the Barnegat lead in half.

Manasquan 2, Jackson Liberty 0

Junior Bryan Tapia and senior Matt Del Guercio each scored first-half goals and the Warriors (2-2) shut out the Lions (1-1-1). Tapia opened the scoring in the eighth minute off a pass from senior Tolga Guven and Del Guercio made it a two-goal game in the 23rd off a set-up by senior Mike Howell.

Wall 2, St. Rose 0

Senior Reilly Barcas scored a goal and assisted one by fellow senior Roshen Eapen to help the Crimson Knights (2-0) christen the new Wall Soccer Complex by beating the rival Purple Roses.

 

Non-Conference

Peddie 1, CBA 0

Peddie benefitted from an own goal in the 19th minute, which was enough to take down the Colts (1-1) in a non-conference match.
