Jeremy Hoops scored off a rebound in the 14th minute of overtime and the Rebels (3-5-2, 3-5-2) beat the Patriots (8-4-1, 7-4-1) for their second straight win while extending Freehold Township's winless streak to three games. Howell had gone five games without a win prior to Thursday's win over Middletown North.

Class A South

No. 3 Toms River North 4, Southern 1

Four different Toms River North players scored and the Mariners (7-2-3, 7-1-3) rolled to a win over the Rams (5-8-2, 2-6-2) to remain in first place in Class A South. Ryan Cheslock, Sean moore, Lee Scheck and Cedric Cook each scored a goal in the win.

Toms River South 3, Toms River East 2

Jared Knowles and Dylan Danelson each scored second half goals to turn a tie game into a two-goal advantage and the Indians (6-4-1, 6-4-0) beat the Raiders (4-4-1, 4-4-1) to sweep the season series. Ryan Shiffer opened the scoring with a shot that deflected off the head of a Toms River East defender and into the net.

Dino Vitale assisted all three Toms River South goals. Lorenzo Scala scored both Toms River East goals, including a penalty kick in the 32nd minute to tie the game at 1.

Long Branch 3, Monmouth 1

Fabio DeSousa scored two goals and Giobrahny Padilla added another as the Green Wave (5-6-2) beat the Falcons (2-11-1) in a non-divisional game. Ross Spadavecchia scored the lone Monmouth goal.
