Shore Sports Network Player of the Week - Week Two

No player in the Shore Conference is off to a better scoring start than Burgos, who leads the conference with 17 goals and is second in percentage of team scoring (55 percent) behind Ocean's Santieno Harding.

During the stretch from Sept. 11 to 17, Burgos scored two goals in a 4-2 loss to Ocean, one in a loss to Raritan, and tallied the game-winner in the 77th minute to deliver Monmouth a huge 2-1 win over Wall on Thursday. He scored nine goals in the first week and already has four this week, but the gravity of the goals Burgos scored during week two of the season helped him grab Player of the Week honors.

Burgos won Player of the Week honors with 36.4 percent of the nearly 32,000 votes cast, which edged out Freehold Boro's Abel Herrera (33.5 percent) by fewer than 1,000 votes. Barnegat's Ricky Norman was the only other candidate to reach a double-digit percentage, collecting 16 percent of the vote.
