The first time the Red Bank boys soccer team beat Colts Neck this season, a senior stepped up and delivered a hat trick to help the Bucs get back into the Shore Conference Class B North division race.

In the second meeting between the two teams on Monday, a different senior turned a hat trick to keep Red Bank alive in its pursuit of a division title.

Senior Sam MacPherson scored three unanswered goals during a stretch of 18:05 in the first half and Red Bank beat Colts Neck, 4-2, to keep pace with Wall and Ocean in the Class B North race.

Justin Gilson recorded the first of his three hat tricks this season in the first meeting with Colts Neck - a 5-2 Red Bank win - and assisted the first of MacPherson's three goals, which tied the game at 1 in the 18th minute. MacPherson added a goal in the 25th and another in the 36th, the latter of which was assisted by Luis Tiro.

Senior Justin Delaney capped the scoring by scoring with two seconds remaining in the game. Brian Knauf scored 22 seconds after MacPherson's third goal to cut Red Bank's lead to 3-2 before halftime.

Colts Neck opened the scoring with a goal by sophomore Louis Reale in the eighth minute. Senior Taylor Demick assisted both Colts Neck goals.

Red Bank will play Matawan in a non-division game on Wednesday and will wrap up its Class B North schedule against Long Branch on Friday. The Bucs can win the Class B North title by winning Friday while both Ocean and Wall lose one of their final two games.
