No. 6 CBA 1, Middletown North 0

Russell Romano scored in the 23rd minute and the Colts (5-1-1, 5-1-1) held on for a win over the Lions (1-5-1, 1-5-0) to remain unbeaten since an opening-day loss to Manalapan.

Marlboro 1, Howell 0

Fil Cataudella broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 70th minute and the Mustangs (2-5-0, 2-4-0) edged the Rebels (1-4-1, 1-4-1) for their second win in their last three games.

No. 9 Colts Neck 3, No. 3 Manalapan 0

Taylor Demick scored the first goal of the season against Manalapan on a free kick in the 32nd minute and Jason Tonelli and Devin Gavrushenko added a goal each as the Cougars (4-1-2, 4-1-2) scored an impressive win over the previously unbeaten Braves (5-1-0, 5-1-0).

Sophomore goalkeeper Mathijs Smit earned the shutout with four second-half saves, including one on a breakaway.

No. 8 Freehold Twp. 1, Middletown South 0

Brian Dziobak flicked a free kick with his head to the far post and Kyle Czajkwoski finished for the game's lone goal in the 24th minute, giving the Patriots (6-2-0, 5-2-0) a win over the Eagles (2-6-0, 1-6-0).

 

Class A Central

Red Bank Catholic 1, Monmouth 0

Kevin Davey finished from eight yards out on a cross from Chris Cesario in the 66th minute and the Caseys (5-2-1, 4-2-0) pulled out a win over the Falcons.

Raritan 4, St. John Vianney 2

The Rockets ( 5-2-1, 3-2-1) stormed out to a 3-0 lead and held off a late surge from St. John Vianney to beat the Lancers (2-5-0, 1-5-0) in A Central. Quinton Bivians and Angelo Fontanazza scored first-half goals and Ryan Casciani scored in the 70th minute to push the lead to 3-0.

Chris Loney and David Kahenar scored five minutes apart for SJV, with Kahenar cutting the deficit to 3-2 with 1:28 left. Pete Amato scored an insurance goal for Raritan with 57 seconds left, set up by Barry O'Sullivan's second assist of the game.

No. 2 Rumson-Fair Haven 2, Manasquan 1

Eamon Kitson scored on a cross from Harry Gassert in the 74th minute and the Bulldogs (7-0-1, 5-0-1) beat the Warriors (3-4-2, 2-4-0) to remain unbeaten. Matt Dell scored the first goal for Rumson Fair Haven.

 

Class B North

Neptune 1, Wall 1

Wall senior Chris Barcas and Neptune senior Stevenly Joseph traded first-half goals and the Scarlet Fliers (4-5-1, 2-3-1) and Crimson Knights (4-1-4, 2-1-3) battled to a stalemate in B North, Wall's fourth draw of the season.

No. 1 Ocean 1, Freehold 1

John McGackin scored the tying goal in the 56th minute and the Colonials (2-5-2, 2-2-2) battled the No. 1 Spartans (6-0-2, 4-0-2) to a draw. Luis Araya scored to put Ocean ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 46th minute.

Red Bank 2, Long Branch 1

Justin Gilson scored the winning goal in the 60th minute and the Bucs (2-6-0, 2-4-0) beat the Green Wave (2-4-2, 1-3-2), which is now winless in six straight games since starting 2-0.

Sam MacPherson put Red Bank on top with a goal in the 12th minute before Long Branch sophomore Fabio DeSousa scored his sixth goal of the season in the 36th to tie the game at 1.

 

Class B South

Monsignor Donovan 3, Jackson Liberty 1

Mike Dalton bent a direct kick around a wall and into the net in the third minute and assisted Brant Reymann's game-winning goal in the 28th minute to lead the Griffins (5-2-2, 5-2-0) to a win over the Lions (3-3-0, 3-3-0).

Kaliph Piper scored for Jackson Liberty in the 24 to tie the game and Sean Suskevich converted a penalty kick in the 74th minute for an insurance goal.

 

Non-Division

Manchester 2, Mater Dei Prep 0

Dom Gregg and Alexis Ramirez each scored a goal and the Hawks shut out the Seraphs for a non-divisional win.

No. 5 Holmdel 5, Shore 1

Menos Hiras, Jason Kyriacou and Gino D'Agostino scored first-half goals and the Hornets (7-1-0) cruised to a win over the Blue Devils (6-3-0). Kyriacou, Jack Flanagan and Brendan Wall each had a goal and an assist for Holmdel.

Non-Conference

Southern 4, Atlantic Tech 0

Chris Starner scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Rams (4-5-1) to a shutout win over Atlantic Tech.
