Class A North

No. 1 Manalapan 3, Freehold 1

Mitchell Volis scored two goals during a 15-minute stretch of the second half and the Braves held on to beat the Colonials and remain unbeaten. Volis scored in the both the 48th and 63rd minutes on assists from Jordan Vance and Rocky Garretson, and Manalapan added a third tally on an own goal in the final minute.

Dom Matteo scored in the 78th minute off a pass from Roberto Albarran to momentarily chop the Braves lead to 2-1.

No. 5 Freehold Twp. 2, Howell 0

Mark Fasano and Adrian Barajas each punched in second-half goals and the Patriots snapped a two-game losing streak - as well as a two-game scoreless streak - by beating the Rebels. Fasano opened the scoring with a goal off a scramble in the box following a free kick and Barajas scored his first varsity goal in the 62nd on a similar play off of a corner kick.

Senior goalkeeper Brian Shushkovsky returned to action after missing the Patriots first six games due to injury.

CBA 3, Marlboro 1

Mike Loeffler scored his first two varsity goals and the Colts won their third straight by snapping a three-game Marlboro winning streak. Russell Romano opened the scoring with a goal in the first half to give CBA a 1-0 lead.

Middletown North 2, Middletown South 0

Jordan Robinson opened the scoring with a goal in the 19th minute off a Randy Azzam assist and Azzam tacked on an insurance goal in the 48th to spark the Lions to a win over the Eagles. Middletown North is now unbeaten over its last five games (3-0-2).

 

Class A Central

St. John Vianney 4, Holmdel 0

Alex Politi recorded a hat trick and the Lancers hammered the Hornets in a battle between the two Holmdel neighbors. Marc Urbealis assisted all three Politi goals, which came in the 24th, 54th and 65th minutes. St. John Vianney also scored on an own goal in the 59th.

The loss is Holmdel's third straight, marking the program's first three-game losing streak since the 2009 season.

Monmouth 2, Raritan 1

Matt Doucette scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute and the Falcons continued to climb in the Class A Central standings by beating the Rockets for their third straight win. Kyle Wire assisted Doucette's winner and also assisted Fabian Burgos' goal to open the scoring in the 60th minute.

Raritan equalized in the 69th minute on a goal by Rocco Ferrigno.

Manasquan 3, No. 10 Matawan 2 (OT)

Ed Franzonie scored the tying goal in the second half and the golden goal in overtime to help the Warriors down the Huskies, snapping their five-game winning streak. Franzonie scored off a pass from Matt Canning to tie the game in the 67th minute and finished off a feed from Joe Warner with 4:45 remaining in the second overtime.

Brendan Kelly staked Manasquan to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the ninth minute before Alex Cella put Matawan in front by scoring in the 37th and assisting a goal by Matt Isaacson just 1:31 later.

 

Class B North

Ocean 3, No. 7 Wall 3

Ocean junior Wadneson Alexis scored in the 70th minute to tie the game at 3, but neither the Spartans nor the Crimson Knights would score again in playing to a draw.

Brendan Barcas carried Wall back from a 2-0 deficit with two goals and an assist during a stretch of 14:09 early in the second half. He scored two goals in the span of 1:12 off passes from Zach Ferry and Gerardo Medina, then set up a go-ahead goal by Connor Fry in the 59th minute.

Ian Dwyer opened the scoring for Ocean off a Claudio Martins assist in the 13th minute and Marlhens Nasanes gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead two minutes later.

Red Bank Catholic 4, Neptune 0

Kevin Davey scored two goals and Chris Cesario and Walter Culkin each added a score as the Caseys stormed past the Scarlet Fliers.

No. 6 Red Bank 1, Long Branch 0

Justin Gilson converted a penalty kick in the 35th minute for the game's lone goal and the Bucs held off the Green Wave. Luis Tiro drew a foul along the end-line on the right side of the 18-yard box, a takedown that set up Gilson's strike to the lower right, which was deflected by Long Branch goalkeeper Kevin Solano.

Red Bank goalkeeper Connor Kelly saved nine shots and earned the shutout in his second start in goal. Kelly stopped a breakaway by Long Branch leading scorer Guilherme De Novaes in the 62nd minute to deny one of Long Branch's many threats in an 18-shot attack.

 

Class B South

Donovan Catholic 6, Lakewood 0

Connor Grant recorded a hat trick and the Griffins rolled to a win over the Piners. Grant also assisted a goal by Alec Mapoy, while Kevin Dillon and Matt Dalton each added a goal for Donovan Catholic. Bryce Grant and Matt Kelly also added two assists apiece in the win.

 

Non-Division

Lacey 1, No. 9 Colts Neck 0

Owen Hope scored the game's lone goal off a set-up by Fred Ciampa in the 51st minute and the Lions beat a top-10 team for the second time in three days, this time taking down the Cougars. Lacey handed Toms River South its first loss of the season on Saturday, a 2-0 decision.

Bobby Considine made seven saves to earn the shutout.
