Class A South

No. 4 Jackson Memorial 5, Central 0

Sophomore Ed Jacoby scored two goals and the Jaguars handled the Golden Eagles. Sophomore Ben Schnaak, junior Ben Patti and sophomore Dan Russo each added a goal and junior Nick Kinzler saved four shots to nail the shutout.

Toms River East 5, Brick 0

Logan Sommerer and Pete Kozlej each scored two goals and the Raiders rolled to a win over the Green Dragons. Christian Zamora scored the fifth goal on a feed from Tyler Parr, which gave Toms River East a 5-0 lead before halftime.

Brick Memorial 2, Toms River North 1 (OT)

Erik Fatovic scored the golden goal with 16 seconds left in the first overtime period and the Mustangs pulled out a win over the Mariners -  their fourth straight win.

The two teams traded goals in the final four minutes of regulation, with Matt Ingenito breaking the tie with a goal for Brick Memorial and Matthias Heberling tying the game for Toms River North in the final minute.

Toms River South 1, No. 9 Southern 0

Matt Babcock's cross in the 46th minute deflected off a defender and in for the game's lone goal and sophomore goalkeeper Jalen Folsom saved a penalty kick by Ethan Leming in the 58th minute to help the Indians nail down a win over the Rams.

Toms River South played with 10 players for the final 22 minutes after Dustin Urbaczek picked up his second yellow card of the game. Indians coach Ed Leibe also drew a second yellow shortly after Urbaczek.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 4, Keyport 1

Four different players found the back of the net and the Seraphs topped the Red Raiders. Pat Mastro opened the scoring off a pass from A.J. Bruney followed by a 40-yard direct kick by Liam Stewart, who also had two assists. Mat Carrigy scored to make it 3-0 and Chris Napoli capped the scoring for Mater Dei.

Breandian Greene converted a penalty kick for the lone Keyport goal.

Asbury Park 5, Henry Hudson 0

Ranney at St. Rose - PPD, Tuesday, 4 p.m.

 

Class B South

Lakewood 2, Donovan Catholic 0

Nate Wharlton broke a scoreless tie in the 48th minute and Japhet Compollo added an insurance goal in the 75th to help the Piners top the Griffins. Moises Galvan picked up the shutout with three saves in net.

Jackson Liberty 6, Manchester 0

Sean Yurgel scored two goals and Riley Benbrook added a goal and two assists to lead the Lions to a rout of the Hawks. Kevin Garry, Josh Montoute and Matt Campbell each added a goal and Riley Fahnholz turned in the shutout in net.

Point Boro 1, Barnegat 0

Senior Matt Moran scored on a pass from senior Jake Brzyski in the 58th minute and the Panthers beat the Bengals in the fourth straight shutout for goalkeeper Steve Redler and the defense.

No. 3 Pinelands 6, Lacey 1

Dom Dos Santos scored a career-high four goals and the Wildcats coasted past the Lions for their eighth straight win to open the season. Junior Kieran Sundermann added a penalty kick goal and three assists and junior Aniello Lubrano chipped in a goal and two assists.

Kevin Miller scored on a pass from Matt Irrizary in the 45th minute to pull Lacey within 4-1.

 

Non-Division

No. 10 Middletown North 2, Freehold Boro 1

Senior Norm Aitbenbella scored the tiebreaking goal on a pass from Pete Angelucci in the 48th minute and the Lions pulled out a win over the Colonials.

The two teams traded goals in the 37th and 38th minutes, with Cam Elslager scoring on a pass from Abel Herrera to put Freehold Boro ahead and Ryan Binn answering for Middletown North on a feed from Pat Gallagher.

Manasquan 2, Point Beach 1

Freshman Tommy Johnson scored the golden goal 22 seconds into overtime off a through-ball from Frank Manno and the Warriors rallied to beat the Garnet Gulls. Chris Pierro tied the game with a 40-yard shot in the second half, with Chris Black setting it up.

Junior Ki Costa scored to give Point Beach an early lead.
